Dragon Ball Super Beerus English Dub Starts November 12 on Crunchyroll
Toei Animation has announced weekly dubbed episodes beginning at 8 a.m. Pacific, with the dub starting about five episodes behind the subtitled release
The English dub of Dragon Ball Super Beerus finally has a start date. Toei Animation has publicly announced that the dub will begin November 12 at 8 a.m. Pacific, which is 11 a.m. Eastern, on Crunchyroll, with dubbed episodes dropping every week.
When is the English dub of Dragon Ball Super Beerus coming? That's one of the questions I've been asked most since the beginning of the series, and even before it started. Now there's an answer.
The Dragon Ball Super Beerus English dub was always expected
I reported back in the summertime, and before that, that there was going to be an English dub. I wasn't sure when it was coming. I did report that it was for sure going to happen, because many people who work on Dragon Ball were informed it was coming a long time ago.
Now Toei Animation has publicly announced the English dub. Crunchyroll will begin airing episode one of Dragon Ball Super Beerus dubbed on November 12 at 8 a.m. Pacific, and new dubbed episodes will follow every week from there.
The dub starts about five episodes behind the subtitled release
Unfortunately, the dub will be behind the sub by about five or so episodes, because November 12 is only days away. It's next week. Even so, anyone who wants to watch it dubbed will at least be able to start.
That gap is small compared with how things used to work. At least it's only five episodes behind, not 30, or the years the old material would take to come out. With this release, the dub will be only around five episodes behind the sub.
Why I'm not worried about the Dragon Ball Super Beerus dub
I've seen some people say they'll wait for the dub, or that they'll check the show out again once it's dubbed. I'm not worried about this dub being a major problem, and I'm not worried about it being a bad dub necessarily.
The Dragon Ball dubs have improved a lot over the years. There are still some imperfections and things they could have done differently, but it's fine. I'll check out episode two to see if they change anything, because I'm always going to be curious about that.
Sub first, then dub
My advice is to check out the sub first, then the dub. But at the very least, fans will now have that option, "and having that option is better than not."
