The Penguin's Rhenzy Feliz on Robert Pattinson's Batman in the DCU: 'I Don't Think So'
Actor discusses whether Matt Reeves' Batman universe could coexist with James Gunn's new Superman film
Rhenzy Feliz, star of HBO's "The Penguin," weighed in on whether Robert Pattinson's Batman could work within James Gunn's newly established DC Universe, expressing skepticism about the possibility.
When asked about the compatibility of the two projects, Feliz pointed to stills he had seen from Gunn's Superman film. "From what I've seen just of stills from the Superman movie that James Gunn just directed, I don't see how it works," he said.
Feliz acknowledged that the two universes are fundamentally different creative visions. "I think they're completely different kind of projects," he explained. He expressed admiration for Gunn's work, particularly praising his film "The Suicide Squad." "I thought what he did with Suicide Squad was incredible. Squad was awesome. I love that. I went and saw it a few times in theaters," Feliz said.
Despite his respect for both filmmakers, Feliz remained firm on his position. When discussing what Matt Reeves created versus what Gunn is building, he stated: "Do I think they can live in the same world? I don't think so."
However, Feliz acknowledged the unpredictability of the entertainment industry. "Crazy things have happened," he conceded, suggesting that while unlikely, nothing is entirely impossible in the realm of superhero filmmaking and studio decisions.
