We watched as Peter finally got the symbiote suit off with Dr Connors' help, only for Harry Osborn to steal it moments later and spiral into something far worse than Peter ever was.

This section matters for fans because it is the first time the story hands control over to the villain's perspective, letting us actually play as Venom-Harry as he rampages through the city, and it sets up Mary Jane's surprising comic-accurate turn that we did not see coming at all.

Kraven the Hunter Is Finally Killed, and Eaten, by Harry's Venom

The Kraven boss fight got a big reaction from us, with the verdict "Craven is a psycho" and both of us cracking up over the realization that his name literally means cowardly. After Peter tears the symbiote off himself and it latches onto Harry instead, Harry as Venom hunts Kraven down and kills him on camera. "He did eat his head," came the observation, followed immediately by "yummy, I was waiting for that," and later summing up the moment with "Harry's a full blown cannibal now, Craven got his wish."

Playing as Venom-Harry Felt Like a Completely Different Game

Once Harry fully transforms, the game lets us control him directly, smashing through Oscorp and the city while Norman Osborn begs his son to stop over the speakers. We noted how different the moveset feels compared to Spider-Man, with Harry described as fighting "more like Hulk" by smashing everything rather than the acrobatic slides Peter uses. Harry ends up turning civilians into symbiote creatures, which later forces Peter and Miles to team up using a music mixing app on Peter's phone to recreate the sound frequencies that weaken the symbiote, freeing trapped people on a stuck train.

Mary Jane's Battle Turns Her Into Scream

The most intense moment for us was MJ getting infected and battling her own insecurities voiced by the symbiote, calling it a moment where "all of those things that she was saying they were definitely things that she felt." We had no idea this character even existed, admitting "I never even heard of Scream" and being amazed that Mary Jane takes on that role in this story. The scene ends with MJ ripping free and immediately quitting her job at the Bugle, which drew genuine praise from us for the character's arc of helping herself before anything else.

Our overall takeaway was that this was one of the heaviest emotional stretches of the game so far, closing with real uncertainty about whether Harry can even be saved once the symbiote is finally removed from him.
