Agatha All Along Episodes 7 to 9: Agatha's Heartbreaking Backstory and Lilia's Epic Exit Left Me Wanting More
The final three episodes of the Marvel series delivered a time-scrambled farewell, a twist about the Witches' Road and a story about Agatha that hurt my heart.
Agatha All Along episodes 7, 8 and 9 hit me hard. Agatha's backstory was heartbreaking, Lilia went out in style, and by the end I was not ready to let these characters go. I went into these last three episodes already upset that I was reaching the end, and the finale only made me want more.
Lilia's time-scrambled trial made her exit glorious
Lilia's death hurt, but she got a glorious, epic ending. Earlier, the way she kept glitching in and out confused me, and I honestly thought she might be dealing with something like Alzheimer's. In reality she was going back and forth through time, filling in the blanks of a story she already knew the outcome of, because she was not living those moments out fully. I found that a really cool concept, almost like playing chess while being able to reverse your pieces whenever something happens. My frustration is simple: "they should not be offing these characters because these characters they've created are so amazing."
Agatha's story shows how rumours made her a monster
The finale's look at Agatha's past was so sad. I found it interesting to see how rumours spread and how she never corrected anyone, so people believed she was an absolute monster. In a way, she is: she lured witches and stole their powers. But she never sold her son for the dark book. The moment she said she made Nicholas from scratch, with no spell and no incantation, made it even worse for me.
Billy created the Witches' Road, and that explains Agatha's fear
The Witches' Road was never a real thing, yet technically Agatha did not lie, because she was the only one who ever made it out, having stolen everyone else's powers. Then Wanda's son shows up and creates the actual road. That made sense of why Agatha seemed terrified and spoke in code throughout. I like that she gravitates toward Billy because she babysat him and watched him grow, and that she seems a little weak around him because of her own son. I'm obsessed with the fact that he is Wanda and Vision's son.
A Wanda reunion and another season are what I wanted next
I can't wait for them to come out with another season. I'd love to see Wanda come back into the picture with her boys and face Agatha, and I think her own son would most likely protect Agatha. Maybe Agatha and Wanda could even become friends, since Agatha did look after her son in some shape or form. Jennifer definitely has to come back, and I wish Lilia, Alice and Miss Sharon could return too; the tribute to them at the end was so sweet. Honestly, "this one was so good that I forgot where I was for a second."
"I am a little bit annoyed at the fact that Agatha's a ghost now, though." Still, she might be safer as a ghost than as a witch. Would you rather see Agatha stay a ghost, or come back fully alive?
