Avengers Secret Wars plot leak reveals Tony Stark return and multiverse reset

An alleged full plot leak for Avengers: Secret Wars has surfaced, outlining a story that brings back Tony Stark, all three Spider-Man variants, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and Steve Rogers, while detailing how the multiverse will be restored after Doom's victory in Doomsday.

How Doomsday Sets Up Secret Wars

According to the leak, Avengers: Doomsday concludes with Steve Rogers' actions in the past inadvertently causing the death of Doctor Doom's wife and child. When Steve travelled back in time in Endgame, his presence destabilised reality. Loki offered to move Steve to a different universe, where he could live with Peggy and their son without creating a branching timeline. However, Steve's presence in Universe 828, the Fantastic Four's universe, caused an incursion with the main MCU timeline.

Doom discovered this incursion and attempted to save his universe through experiments that scarred him and resulted in a lab accident killing his family. Doomsday ends with Doom executing his true plan: allowing the multiverse to collapse so he can rebuild it in his own image using power stolen from Loki. The Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and an army from Valhalla march on Latveria, but Doom wins. He kills Steve's son before his eyes, completes the incursions, and resurrects everyone on a new patchwork world called Battle World, where he is the god-like ruler.

One Year on Battle World

Secret Wars takes place a year after Battle World's creation. Most residents have no memory of the old world and believe Battle World has always existed, living under a medieval, feudal society. However, the three Spider-Men (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland), Namor, the Young Avengers, Vision, She-Hulk, Deadpool, Sattire, Jean Grey, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Reed Richards, and Sentry all retain their memories.

They discover that Doom is not merely a ruler but the very engine of reality itself, actively maintaining Battle World using Loki's stolen power. This mirrors how the multiversal loom once held together the Sacred Timeline. The resistance forms and infiltrates different domains across Battle World, searching for weaknesses in Doom's structure. They find allies among those who are beginning to glitch and regain memories of the old world.

Doom's Forces and the Resistance Strategy

Doom commands an army of Thor variants with Doctor Strange as his second in command. He also maintains a coven of witches, and Yolena serves as his third in command. Steve Rogers is held captive, the only person whose memory Doom deliberately preserved. Doom wants Steve to witness his victory and see that he has built a new family while Steve has lost everything.

Rather than directly attacking Doom, the resistance focuses on turning his forces against him. She-Hulk gathers the Hulks, Deadpool restores Thor's memories, the Young Avengers unite the mutant population, and Spider-Man rallies New York. Reed Richards gathers the remaining Future Foundation members. Meanwhile, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and Steve Rogers, who escapes with Yolena's help, search for Loki, the only one capable of stealing Doom's power back.

The Casino and Tony Stark's Return

They find Loki in an Asgardian domain that has become a casino, where he works as manager alongside other TVA members including Sylvie and Mobius. Loki initially refuses to help, but the group encounters an unexpected ally: Tony Stark, a miserable drunk gambling away his life. After convincing both Tony and Loki to join the resistance, they prepare for the final confrontation.

The Final Battle and Resolution

At the climactic battle, armies from across Battle World storm Doom's castle. Thor and the Hulks fight the Thor variants while Sam Wilson leads forces against the witches and Doombots. Reed Richards, Yolena, and a now-awakened Sue Storm confront Doom directly alongside Steve Rogers, Hulk, She-Hulk, Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Sentry, Loki, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.

Doom initially overwhelms them, but Reed and Sue appeal to his grief over his family. Though briefly moved, Doom ultimately rejects redemption. Tobey's Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and Tony Stark save the heroes at the last moment, holding Doom long enough for Loki to reclaim his stolen power and restore the multiverse.

According to the leak, the Fantastic Four, Deadpool, Wolverine, and the X-Men are sent back to their original universes rather than remaining in the MCU. The TVA retrieves Steve, Peggy, and their resurrected son to place them in a new universe, preventing further incursions. Steve asks the TVA for one final favour: to return him to Earth 616 at the end of Endgame so he can pass the shield to Sam Wilson before returning to his family.
