Captain America versus Tarzan. Who wins? I think Tarzan is going to be a lot more dangerous than people realize, especially the version from Disney's Tarzan (1999). But when you weigh everything up, I believe Captain America comes out on top, and it comes down to skill.

Disney's Tarzan is more dangerous than people realize

This is somebody who was raised by gorillas and spent his entire life swinging through trees, so he can move through the jungle faster than almost anyone.

Remember, Tarzan fought and killed Sabor, a full grown leopard that had been terrorizing his family. He got thrown around in that fight, avoided its claws and teeth, and eventually managed to kill it using a spear. So Tarzan is incredibly strong, fast and agile.

Captain America matches Tarzan on strength

You can say all the same things about Captain America. He's strong enough to stop a helicopter from taking off by physically holding it back. He can throw a motorcycle around, crush a jeep and go toe to toe with the Winter Soldier.

On speed, though, Tarzan is way faster and more agile than Captain America. I don't think you can even begin to argue that one.

Strength, I think, is closer than you'd expect. Tarzan was regularly able to knock around rhinos and kick elephants and send them flying. That's right up there with super soldier stuff.

Skill and the vibranium shield decide Captain America vs Tarzan

So instead, I think it comes down to skill and weapons. Tarzan isn't an exceptionally skilled fighter, and he's got his spear. Captain America is one of the best fighters on the planet, and he's got the vibranium shield.

Tarzan has absolutely no way to get around that shield. Cap is simply too good with it. At the same time, Steve can easily smack Tarzan around. And if the shield can hurt Ultron and Iron Man, it's cutting right through Tarzan.

Why Captain America wins

Tarzan is surprisingly strong, surprisingly fast, and tough enough to get crushed by elephants. But it comes down to skill, and Captain America is "so so much more skilled." That's why he's going to win. Captain America wins.
