Thanos vs Ultron: Why Thanos Wins a Straight Up Fight

Thanos versus Ultron, who wins? If it's anything like What If, Ultron is going to win in an instant. But really, I think Thanos should have been able to give Ultron a much better fight, and in a straight up fight between the two of them, Thanos wins.

Ultron has advantages Thanos doesn't

Ultron does have some advantages here that Thanos doesn't. Ultron can fly, fire energy blasts, and control an entire army of robots. He's also basically impossible to kill as long as there's another body somewhere that he can upload his consciousness into.

By the end of Age of Ultron, he even had a body made from vibranium. So, physically, "Ultron is no joke." He's able to fight Thor, and it took the combined hits of Iron Man, Thor, and Vision to finally start melting his body.

Thanos has already beaten Hulk, Thor and Captain America

Then you've got Thanos, the guy who beat Hulk so badly that Hulk basically refused to come back out for the rest of the movie. He completely overpowered Thor and beat Captain America. During Endgame, he was fighting Iron Man, Thor, and Cap all at once.

Thanos can still hurt Ultron's vibranium body

Ultron's vibranium is definitely going to be difficult to injure. But we've seen Thanos damage Cap's shield with his sword, and that shield is made from vibranium too. So Thanos can still hurt Ultron here.

Thanos is the far more skilled fighter than Ultron

While Ultron isn't much of a fighter, Thanos is an incredibly skilled warrior who spent years conquering planets and fighting some of the most powerful beings in the universe. Once Thanos gets his hands on Ultron, "the fight is going to go downhill pretty quickly from there."

Ultron's network is a different problem, but one on one Thanos wins

Destroying Ultron's main body doesn't necessarily mean destroying every copy of his consciousness. If we're including his entire network and army, that's a whole different problem. But in a straight up fight between the two of them, Thanos wins.
