DanCo Breaks Down Why Apocalypse Beats Ikaris in a Marvel Matchup

Apocalypse beats Ikaris. That is my call in this matchup, and it comes down to one simple fact: Apocalypse does not have to beat Ikaris in a fair fight to win.

Ikaris is one of the most powerful beings in the MCU

Ikaris is a being on par with Captain Marvel, Sentry, and Thor. Not kidding. He fought Captain Marvel to a stalemate in Marvel Zombies for years at full power, and battling a zombie Carol Danvers for five years is an insane feat that he deserves credit for.

His eye blast can slice right through Deviants, and he has been able to battle the entire Eternals roster all by himself. He has the raw strength to match all of them except maybe Gilgamesh, who is himself as strong as the Hulk. Straight up, Ikaris can probably easily match Apocalypse in a direct fight.

Apocalypse does not need to fight fair because he can rearrange matter

The problem is that Apocalypse does not have to fight Ikaris hand to hand, because he can rearrange matter at the molecular level. He does not need to overpower Ikaris physically, and he does not need to match his eye blast. He can just rearrange the molecules that make up Ikaris's eternal body.

That is a completely different type of fight, and Ikaris's durability is not going to be able to stop it. In X-Men Apocalypse, Apocalypse strips abilities from other mutants, moves cities, and operates on a scale that is literally planetary. He has been called the world's first and most powerful mutant for a reason.

My verdict on this matchup

Ikaris can probably match Apocalypse in a straight fight, but Apocalypse's whole power set flips this matchup completely upside down. There is really nothing Ikaris can do about someone who can rearrange the molecules in his body rather than trying to overpower him. Apocalypse wins.
