Avengers Doomsday Reshoots Are Finished, and One New Scene Reportedly Will Make Fans Very Happy

Multiple industry insiders now confirm the reshoots have wrapped, with fresh reporting pointing to a fan favorite addition, a possible Scarlet Witch return, and a wave of new cameos.

A couple of different industry insiders have now confirmed that the reshoots for Avengers Doomsday are completely finished. That means attention is shifting to Avengers Secret Wars, which should start filming by the end of this month. In the meantime, there is a lot of new reporting from industry insider Daniel RPK, plus a wave of Twitter scoopsters running alleged leaked photos through AI, and I want to break down what is actually solid versus what should be treated with real caution.

Daniel RPK Says Reshoots Added a Scene That Will Make Fans Happy

According to Daniel RPK, who broke this news, the reshoots for Avengers Doomsday are complete, though he admits the report is a bit cryptic and lacking his normal context. His quote was direct: "They added one scene that will make a lot of people happy. That's for sure." Just before that, he had also updated that Red Guardian was involved in some of the recent reshoots, though I do not think there is a scene Marvel fans are clamoring for with Red Guardian specifically, so those two updates are most likely unrelated.

Going back through everything reported so far, my read is that this kind of update has to do with a main character carrying a majority of the plot. That could be either Steve Rogers or Thor. I think Thor is due for a major triumph in this film, even though he is reportedly set to lose a limb, with some debate over whether that is his hand or the whole arm from the elbow down like in the comics. Either way, Thor is clearly one of the major players in this movie, and there are a lot of fan favorite moments that could be in store.

Scarlet Witch's Reported Reshoot Return, Complicated by Her Pregnancy

What Daniel RPK appears to be referring to lines up with what has been the talk for the last week, that Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch is returning for reshoots. We previously covered footage suggesting she is currently very pregnant, which makes it hard to picture her actually being on set filming right now.

That said, with how far CGI has come, and with her stunt double reportedly already on set during Doomsday reshoots, I still think there is a likely chance she ends up being part of Secret Wars more than Doomsday itself.

More Cameos Reportedly Added During the Reshoots

Even though we think we have a good grasp on most of the cast from everything officially released by Marvel, there are reportedly a ton of cameos and other characters still set to show up in this film. Daniel RPK reported last week that the reshoots were specifically focused on adding more cameos and more characters, giving the film more room to do that once it had worked itself out.

That created opportunities like adding Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch as one of the sorcerer followers Doctor Strange already has in the film. It also makes me think that scheduling conflicts that may have kept Tom Holland's Peter Parker out last year could have been resolved this year, meaning we could get a cameo we did not expect, with actual scenes in what could be an intense final battle in the third act of Doomsday.

Why I'm Steering Clear of the AI-Run Leak Images

We have almost entirely stopped covering so-called leaked images because it is impossible anymore to tell the difference between AI and what is real. What seems to be happening lately is that some Twitter scoopsters are taking actual leaked photos and running them through AI, so you end up with an AI version of something that started as a real leak, and that appears to be the case for a couple of photos already circulating, including a new scene involving Mjolnir and a photo of Bucky on the floor inside the throne room.

The clip getting sent to me over the last day shows Doctor Doom walking through a busted down courtyard with the same fountain seen in real footage, using magic to send Mjolnir into a building where it explodes, which does not make sense to me. My honest take is that this is more likely AI than an enhanced real leak, since there is simply too much of this content flooding Twitter right now. The same goes for supposed clips of Spider-Man and Wolverine, played by Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman, fighting in the street. Even if it lines up with descriptions people have already heard about a scene like that, it does not mean it is based on any real leaked footage.

I would rather go off the reporting of industry insiders than this kind of visual material, because there is a hierarchy already built from the top down: major Hollywood trades, then industry insiders with their own editorials, then Twitter scoopsters with established track records, all the way down to anonymous posts on places like 4chan or Reddit. Sometimes that lower tier ends up being right, which is exactly what happened when we waited a couple of days to cover super pixelated footage of Doctor Doom raising the Sentinels, assuming it was AI, only for it to turn out real. That is why, even with new AI images circulating of the X-Men sitting at the Baxter Building, I would rather not cover this material at all, but sitting out risks missing a genuine major leak, so my rule stays the same: if it is visual media made in 2026 with today's AI generators, it is more likely fake than real.

What do you think the scene is that Daniel RPK says will make everybody happy? I do not think it is the Thor and Deadpool crying scene just yet, since I think that is being saved for Secret Wars, though a reunion between Loki and Thor would absolutely fit the bill. Unfortunately, based on what we already know about the plot leaks for Doomsday, that does not look like it is in the cards.
