Marvel's Biggest Hall H Ever? What Insiders Said to Expect From the SDCC 2026 Panel

A new scooper and an on site report pointed to Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars cast members, an X-Men tease and a next saga name before Marvel Studios took the stage

When I put this together in July 2026, there were less than 24 hours to go until Marvel Studios' huge presentation at San Diego Comic-Con Hall H. Kevin Feige had spent the previous week and a half letting everybody know the studio had some huge surprises in store.

The latest updates came largely from one industry insider, with a fellow YouTuber adding to the picture, and apparently we had no idea just how big this presentation was going to be. My usual advice is to "keep your expectations low, you won't be disappointed", but undeniably it was looking like the panel may be one of Marvel's biggest presentations ever. Below I go through where the reports came from, what they said to expect, and the titles I thought could be in play.

A New Scooper Said the Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars Casts Were Lined Up for Hall H

The first update broke about 20 minutes before I started putting this together. It came from a scooper who is rather new to the scene but has already established a proven track record. I will say that when a new scooper pops up and is followed by a bunch of other legacy scoopers, it always makes me think it's just an old scooper on a new account. Regardless, this is what they said they had heard from their sources about the presentation.

Apparently, in addition to showing exclusive new Avengers: Doomsday material, Marvel was getting as much of the Doomsday cast as it could on stage. The studio was also expected to introduce some of the Secret Wars cast. According to the scooper, there were at least three new projects and titles coming, maybe more, along with something X-Men related, which he guessed specifically meant the logo. Marvel also reportedly planned to unveil the next saga name.

No X-Men Cast Yet, Even With Sadie Sink Expected as Jean Grey

The same scooper went as far as to say there would not be an X-Men cast reveal, and that lined up exactly with what we had already heard from other industry insiders like DanielRPK. They've basically said, "Look, no matter what we're getting on Saturday night, we're not getting the X-Men cast just yet."

The X-Men film had been in the news non stop, and Sadie Sink was probably the first of that cast as Jean Grey. But Marvel was literally in the middle of casting the movie at that point. There was no way it was all complete. Even if the studio had some core characters locked in, say Adam Driver as Magneto or Mr. Sinister or whomever he may or may not be playing, it was not going to be the full cast.

Denzel Washington's Presence Pointed to Black Panther 3

We knew at least one of the projects Marvel would be talking about was Black Panther 3, which confirmed the announcements would be going into the next phase. The reason we knew that was because it had been confirmed that Denzel Washington was on scene alongside Sadie Sink and some of the other cast members of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

That was interesting, because technically Spider-Man is Sony, and Marvel has not ever spent any time on Spider-Man during its Comic-Con panel. This looked like an exception, with Brand New Day due out just the following week. I would not have been surprised if Marvel brought that cast out, with Sadie Sink, who was probably going to be unveiled as Jean Grey, there a week beforehand. As one of the producers said, it's probably the worst kept secret, and I was sure Marvel Studios wanted to capitalize on that. Maybe we would be introduced to one extra member of the cast. Still, an X-Men logo would have been great, with Marvel forecasting into the beginning of Phase Seven.

Black Panther 3 seemed like the most lock for the night, along with maybe one other title, say a Thor 5, a Deadpool 4 or maybe even a Midnight Suns. But given what had been said all weekend about Blade being fully scrapped, I was not sure what to believe about that, about Midnight Suns, or about the fact that it was heavily rumored Mahershala Ali's Blade is in Secret Wars.

Why Marvel Stopped Making Sweeping Announcements After Hall H 2019

I've said it for years now: temper expectations. Marvel Studios got way ahead of itself with the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 Hall H announcements, where it promised projects that got canceled. Blade, Armor Wars, the list goes on. Once things the studio had no control over, like the pandemic or the actors strike, completely annihilated its plans, it reined things in and decided to focus literally year to year on what was right in front of it, rather than making huge sweeping announcements.

But it had been a long time since we had a huge sweeping announcement. If ever there were a time for Marvel Studios to want to bank in on the cachet it had built up by not doing one in a while, maybe this time it would be able to keep to its dates. Marvel had a huge movie in Avengers: Doomsday set for the end of the year, and it felt like the studio was trying to capture the feeling we had at the end of the Infinity Saga, when we allowed ourselves to really buy into the wonderment without holding back.

It would have been amazing if Marvel dropped all of Phase Seven at the panel. Was I expecting that? No way. Going beyond Phase Seven, into the next two or three years, would have been insane. Honestly, a 2028 and 2029 Phase Seven preview of three or four titles would have been more than enough. But "Marvel Studios isn't Marvel Studios because they just do what's more than enough." The studio wanted to go for a home run here. "It really feels like by all accounts they want to go for a home run."

Erik Voss Reported More A-Listers Than Anyone Expected

That home run feeling was echoed by fellow YouTuber Erik Voss, who was on site and posted on Twitter that, given what he knew about the press allotments, there were so many A-listers lined up for the presentation, many more than we ever expected. Denzel Washington was among the names mentioned.

I thought there may be some huge surprises in who Marvel had cast as future characters, and in which films and titles those characters would appear.

The Titles I Thought Could Fill Phase Seven and Beyond

The titles in play were the same ones I had talked about for a while: Thor 5, Doctor Strange 3, Shang-Chi 2, the next Spider-Man film, which at this point would be Spider-Man 5, Fantastic Four 2, Deadpool 4, Midnight Suns, Nova, and possibly a World War Hulk project of some kind, though I never believed Marvel would be able to do that because of the Universal rights. On top of those were two more Avengers titles.

At the current rate of two films a year, that would take us up through 2032, which was the end of Marvel's original plan before Kevin Feige extended it to 2042 that same week. It made me think about how old I'll be if they actually make it to 2042, "and I don't want to talk about it."

Since it appeared that everything might be in play, I wanted to dream big: if you were the architect of Phases Seven, Eight and Nine, which titles would you include?
