Super Saiyan God Trunks Clashes With a Warrior in Black in Super Dragon Ball Heroes Ultra God Mission Episode 2

Super Saiyan 3 Raditz, an accidental Yamcha win, and a former Supreme Kai of Time who stops a fight cold

Geekdom101 (AI-assisted)9 October 2026 · Editor: Digital Fox Talent Editorial Team 1,080 words · 5 min read

Super Dragon Ball Heroes Ultra God Mission episode 2, titled Fierce Battle in the Super Space Time Tournament, The Warriors in Black Invade, put Super Saiyan God Trunks up against one of the mysterious Warriors in Black. The episode also revealed that the woman behind the Super Space Time Tournament is a former Supreme Kai of Time. I covered the first episode of this newest arc, I think about a month and a half earlier, when it first dropped.

As for what this show is, "nothing's changed as far as what this is." It isn't really a continuation of the series in any way. It's a promotional vehicle to push new and upcoming cards for the Japanese Super Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game. That's why there's no English or Western release. In the West we don't have that arcade game, apart from the one Switch port, so a lot of this is made for that game. A lot of newer readers may not have been around when I first started covering this series, so I want to explain that up front.

Super Saiyan 3 Raditz and Hit Versus Hirudegarn Open the Episode

The episode starts with the announcer saying there are about seven minutes left, followed by a compilation of battles going on across the different arenas. We get Jiren versus Dragon Ball Z Broly, and Hit versus Hirudegarn, with Hit actually punching him in the forehead. That one was really cool. Hit is a character I never thought I would see against Hirudegarn, not even in the games, because Hirudegarn is so big. He's a big kaiju, but he's here too.

There's also the Kid Buu and Janemba fight, and there's some interesting art in this episode. I'd say it has good art. Then comes an unexpected reveal: Super Saiyan 3 Raditz. Somehow Raditz has Super Saiyan 3. Remember that this is an alternate universe of the main Dragon Ball. He's fighting Turles, presumably the good version of Turles, though we don't really know. Dragon Ball Heroes pulls from multiple universes, timelines and continuities, including some that have never been revealed in the main Dragon Ball timelines. Heroes is its own thing, and that's how you get things like this.

The Goku Rematch Looked Good but Was Never Going to Be the Manga Version

The two Gokus, Xeno Goku and regular Goku, power up into Super Saiyan 4 and Super Saiyan Blue respectively and start their big rematch from the very first episode of the Super Dragon Ball Heroes promotional anime. That original anime fight was a big letdown. If you can find the manga version of the two Gokus fighting, compare it to the anime version. The manga is so much better.

It's a shame, because I really wanted to see this rematch, but I knew it would be a letdown like in the anime, so I wasn't hyped up for it. It did look good, though. The animation was a little bit choppy, but the art looks great. I have to give it to the artist. The designs are nice.

Yamcha Wins by Accident

There's a comedy scene where Yamcha admits he's been running away from every battle. Then he accidentally headbutts a time fairy, and that makes him a winner. His group ends up going back to the main hall, which is separate from the battle arenas. Yamcha accidentally getting a win was a very Yamcha thing for them to do, and I did like that.

Because of that victory, Goku and the others went back too. That's probably a letdown for Goku, since he was probably enjoying the fight with himself, but at least it explains why the fight is so short this time. Xeno Goku came back pretty quickly as well, because Trunks is the one who won for his team.

The Super Space Time Tournament Is Basically the Tournament of Power Again

Then we find out that the losing teams disappear, as in they're wiped away. Let's keep it real: "it really is just a copycat of the tournament of power." The difference is that there's no Zeno this time, and it isn't different universes but different continuities or timelines, whatever you want to call them. It gets confusing, because Dragon Ball itself has multiple timelines and then Heroes has billions more alternate pathways. Basically, it's another version of that tournament made for this game, with a lot of characters who weren't in the Tournament of Power.

In some cases, having Golden Cooler and Hirudegarn is maybe better. I like those characters more than a lot of the ones from the Tournament of Power, not all of them, but a lot of them for sure. To be honest, that could also be my nostalgia talking, and I have to be self aware about that. Some folks don't even think Hirudegarn is that interesting. I love that movie, mostly because of Tapion's story rather than his.

A Warrior in Black, Possibly Future Gohan, Blocks Super Saiyan God Trunks

The news that they have to win or be erased comes as a big surprise to the heroes. The one who delivers it is one of the Warriors in Black, who many people think is Future Gohan, though I don't know yet. Time Patrol Trunks, the Xeno Trunks, powers up into his Super Saiyan God form and tries to attack, but the Warrior in Black simply blocks it.

These guys are going to be pushed up to being really strong no matter who they are revealed to be. Don't forget that King Vegeta was around Beerus level at one point in Heroes. Heroes does whatever it wants, whether it makes sense or not, so keep that in mind.

The Warrior in Black fights Trunks, and Piccolo recognizes his moves. Future Gohan was nowhere near as strong as anything Super Saiyan God, including Time Patrol Trunks, but this is Heroes, so anybody can be as strong as anybody. Remember too that Trunks, even the Time Patrol version, had the future with the androids happen to him, as told in the History of Trunks special. So that connection with Gohan is still there, from a friendship and teacher student standpoint.

Aeos Freezes Time and Reveals Herself as a Former Supreme Kai of Time

Trunks and the Warrior in Black fire big ki blasts at each other, but Aeos freezes time right in front of them and stops the fight from happening. She doesn't want them to fight, so she takes the blast herself and warps them elsewhere. "What an incredible power she must have."

Then it's officially revealed to the main characters that Aeos is a former Supreme Kai of Time. She's trying to get back into that position by creating this tournament, and I'm sure there's more to be revealed as time goes on. With that, she reveals her name to everyone, and that's the end of the episode.

Who the Warriors in Black Might Be, and My Verdict

The next episode is called A Fierce Battle That Transcends Across Space Time, The Threat of the Warriors in Black, so we'll see more of these warriors. They're rumored, or rather we speculate, to be people who died in other timelines, like Future Gohan, maybe Bardock, maybe the original nameless Namekian. Again, I don't know that for certain, but that's been the talk among people following this story.

Overall, this was decent art and a little bit of decent fighting, and probably one of the better Heroes episodes. But it is what it is, and by now you should know what it is.

Which possible identity for the Warriors in Black seems most likely to you?
