Dragon Ball Heroes Revealed the First Female Super Saiyan 4 While Dragon Ball Super Went on Hiatus

A new issue of V Jump revealed the first female Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball history, a design for the created Saiyan character Note in the Dragon Ball Heroes game. The same issue carried no chapter of Dragon Ball Super, because the manga was on hiatus with no announced return date.

Dragon Ball Super's manga went on hiatus with no return date announced

This month's V Jump came out without a Dragon Ball Super chapter. The manga was on hiatus, and at the time I had no idea when it would come back. Some people thought the break would last a month. However, there was no announcement of a return in September or October, or even November.

I was confident it would return, because the Black Frieza cliffhanger needed to be paid off at some point. We just did not know when. It could have been December, or it could have been the following year.

In the meantime, Toyotaro drew a piece of art of True Ultra Instinct Goku. I thought it showed his improvement as an artist. The image was labelled as a Dragon Ball Super interval special, which fit the break the series was on. I was sure we would learn more soon about what was planned. There were a lot of rumours about the following year and what might come besides the manga, but nothing had been confirmed.

Note became the first female Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball Heroes

The main reveal in V Jump was an update for the Dragon Ball Heroes game about its created Saiyan characters, the male Beat and the female Note. Beat had figured out how to tap into Super Saiyan 4. The magazine showed Note in the form, which made her the first female Super Saiyan 4 we had ever seen in Dragon Ball.

We had already seen these characters in their base forms and seen them unlock other transformations. We had also seen female Super Saiyans before with Caulifla and Kale. This was the first look at what a female Super Saiyan 4 would look like.

Note's Super Saiyan 4 design covers up the form's exposed chest

Her version differs from the male one. There are similarities in the eyes and the hair structure. The male version, however, has the chest exposed, and that could not be carried over to a female character without taking Dragon Ball somewhere inappropriate. There were other ways they could have handled it. They chose to cover almost her whole body in an outfit instead.

So it looks a bit different from the traditional Super Saiyan 4. You can still tell what it is from the hair, the eyes and the overall look of the form. I like the design, though I prefer the male version a little more. In the end, they had to do what they had to do to keep the series and the game family friendly.

Will a female Super Saiyan 4 ever appear outside the games?

I doubt we will ever get a female Super Saiyan 4 in the main series, but you never know. As I put it, "Dragon Ball Heroes loves to do things that we're never going to get in the real series," and those are often things I wish the series would bring in. I thought this would be cool for people who love the form to check out. It is not the same Super Saiyan 4, but "it still looks pretty cool if you ask me."

Do you prefer Note's covered Super Saiyan 4 design or the classic male version, and do you think a female Super Saiyan 4 could ever appear outside the games?
