Dragon Ball Daima Season 2 Pitch Imagines Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, a Brand New Fusion, and a Gohan Tease
The pitch imagines an ancient evil Namekian clan, the death of a magic-wielding demon realm ally, and a fusion between Goku and Vegeta that is not Gogeta.
Dragon Ball Daima's finale left a lot of people scratching their heads. We did not even see Goku leave the demon realm, and that ending led to plenty of fans wondering whether Akira Toriyama had more story in mind, and whether it was meant to eventually tie into Dragon Ball Super, which is supposed to take place three years after Daima.
Why I think Dragon Ball Daima needed a season 2 to tie things to Super
When this pitch was put together in March 2025, there was no official announcement for more Daima, and none of the creatives who worked on the show had discussed anything past the 20 episode run. If Toriyama had something more planned, it is either somewhere in his notes or, since he passed away, he took it with him.
My own view is that if a season 2 had happened, the primary focus should have been figuring out ways to tie everything together with Super, closing off some of the character stories, while also maybe leaving things open for a return to the demon realm many years down the road.
I laid out my own plot pitch for Dragon Ball Daima season 2. I did not go episode by episode through every story beat, just the basic premise. The goal was to make the fans happy, address whatever issues they had with the first 20 episodes, and tie into future stories in a satisfying way without going overboard with prequel setup, since Battle of Gods is still a couple of years away and a lot could happen between now and then.
The setup: one year after Daima, still years before Battle of Gods
My pitch takes place one year after the Daima season 1 finale. We are still two years away from Battle of Gods, so there is no Beerus, no Whis, and no Uub, since all of that is being saved for that story. The whole point was figuring out how to do a sequel to Daima that connects to Super without touching territory that belongs to a different saga.
I know fans want different things, and you cannot please everyone, but this was my attempt at finding a middle ground.
The villain: an evil clan of Namekians sealed away for millions of years
The villain, borrowed from Heroes and from ideas floating online, is an evil clan of demonic Namekians sealed away in Demon Realm 2 millions of years ago and forgotten about. The seal was broken when Goku's Super Saiyan 4 Kamehameha blasted through the triple demon realm at the end of season 1, without him realizing what he had done.
These Namekians are old, with a lot of magic knowledge, but they are not physically strong yet after being sealed away so long. I love that this keeps Daima functioning as a consequence of the Majin Buu saga: Dabura died, so Gomah became the demon king, then Goku's Super Saiyan 4 blast accidentally freed this ancient evil.
To get stronger, the evil Namekians kidnap the demon realm's magic-wielding ally from season 1 and try to drain his power into their leader. That leader is eventually revealed to be as old as he is, and to have been the original creator of the third eye.
A smaller cast returns, and this time someone actually dies
The current demon king finds out about the threat from a spy and sends Glorio to go get Goku, the same way he did in season 1. This time Gohan finally joins the trip to the demon realm, which I wanted to include because I know how much fans wanted him involved. But I kept the group small this time rather than bringing along everyone: Piccolo, Vegeta, Goku, and Gohan, with Goten and Trunks left out. "We don't need them, bro," as I put it, even though I know people love them.
The evil Namekians overthrow the current demon king and capture him along with others, and I even floated killing him off. Daima had zero deaths across its run, so this pitch brings some in. "Sometimes you got to break a few eggs to make an omelette, bro," and if Daima is for kids, "them little kids got to learn about death."
The magic-wielding ally sacrifices himself to unlock Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta
The villain wants to take the demon realm's female magic scholar as his bride, not to reproduce, but to channel her magic energy for himself. "This guy is a magic. He's like the evil Doctor Strange, bro."
By the end of the season, the magic-wielding ally dies. He is too powerful to carry into Super, since keeping him alive would open up too many story threads. Before he dies, he uses the last of his magic power to unlock Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, since everybody wants to see it. In this pitch, Super Saiyan 4 only works through a magic trigger, so Vegeta's transformation becomes the last time the form is seen, because the magic source behind it is gone.
He chooses not to be wished back afterward. When asked why, his answer echoes Goku: "Because I'm tired of taking baths and I don't have to bathe when I'm dead."
During the villain's power drain, the visual is closer to a slow blood transfusion than an instant kill, with the villain gaining more eyes and glowing more orange as he absorbs the magic. By the climax, Goku and Vegeta arrive together, Gohan and Piccolo get tossed around, and Goku goes Super Saiyan 4 but still starts losing. Seeing Vegeta paralyzed against a mountain, the magic-wielding ally transfers his remaining life energy into unlocking Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, who fires a Final Flash that punches another hole straight through the demon realm. The current demon king's response is simply that it is fine now, they can poke as many holes as they want.
A brand new fusion, not Gogeta, finishes the fight, then a Gohan tease closes the season
Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta still cannot finish off the fully powered villain alone, so the answer is a fusion. It would not be Gogeta, since the two fusion methods involved are different from how Gogeta is normally formed, making this a brand new fusion character. As a placeholder during the pitch, no final name was settled on, with figuring out a name left for later.
For the look, since Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta already used red hair, the idea was gold on the sides with red down the middle, similar to Gotenks' base form coloring. This new Super Saiyan 4 fusion is what finally defeats the evil Namekian leader and saves the demon realm, with Gohan helping in the fight.
The season ends with a post credit scene where the demon realm's magic scholar is reading her magic book and tells Gohan that, according to what she has found, the power unlocked in him by the Old Kai hides a real beast inside him. The screen cuts to black with the words "Gohan will return."
Filling out 20 episodes: demon eggs, a missing book, and a Panzy cameo
The biggest problem Daima had was pacing, feeling like it was dragging while trying to find its footing the whole way. The fix proposed for season 2 is giving the villain the power to conjure ancient demons from before the multiverse existed, spitting them out as eggs the way Demon King Piccolo once did, giving the heroes side battles without stalling the main plot.
There is also a moment where a trio of magic-wielding figures from the demon realm sense the ally's death, power up into an enhanced form, and jump into the fight themselves. They lose, but still put up a good fight.
Episode-wise, the first three or four episodes establish the evil Namekians and Glorio's search for Goku, with no one turning into a kid this time since everyone stays an adult. Episodes five through around ten focus on tracking down a magic book that can crack open the villain's defenses, sending the group to Demon World 3 for a Scooby-Doo style search that ends with discovering Panzy has had the book the whole time, using it to prop up a broken desk leg, giving her a cameo.
Once they retrieve the book, they reach the villain's sealed-off castle in Demon Realm 2, and the final battle begins around episode 12. That leaves seven or eight episodes for a slower paced Dragon Ball Z style fight with real story development, the Super Saiyan 4 material, and the new fusion, before a final episode of goodbyes where the magic-wielding ally declines to be brought back to life.
