How Hallows Eve's Trick-or-Treat Masks Give Her Spider-Man's Powers and More

Hallows Eve's powers all come from one source: her bag of treats, which is literally a big trick-or-treating bag she carries. Inside that bag are masks she can pull out and wear, and each mask comes with its own powers and effects. That is the whole mechanic behind her ability set, and it is why she can shift between so many different forms depending on which mask she puts on.

Classic monster masks give Hallows Eve powers like Frankenstein's monster and werewolves

A lot of those masks are based on classic monsters. She has a Frankenstein mask that gives her all of the powers of Frankenstein's monster. She has a human fly mask that turns her into the human fly, which I compared to Jeff Goldblum's version of the character.

There is a werewolf mask that turns people into werewolves and also gives her the powers of a werewolf herself. A ghost mask makes her intangible and invisible, and a witch mask gives her the ability to cast spells and use magic. Between the Frankenstein, human fly, werewolf, ghost and witch masks, that is the full run of classic monster forms she can pull out of the bag.

Hallows Eve can also become Marvel superheroes through her Halloween costume masks

On top of the monster masks, she can also turn into some of the Marvel universe's superheroes, and the reasoning behind that is built right into the concept. Since we dress up as Marvel heroes for Halloween in our world, people in her universe dress up as their own heroes for Halloween too, and those costumes are exactly what her masks are drawing from.

That means she gets enhanced strength when she puts on the Hulk mask, and she can get Spider-Man's powers if she dons his mask. She can also turn into Captain America, getting both the shield and the super strength that comes with it. On that last one, I could not help but add, "but she also gets like the cute little costume. Love that."
