Leaked Avengers: Doomsday Scene Shows Doom and His Sentinels Battling the X-Men and Avengers

A newly leaked clip from the film's later scenes appears to confirm a theory about Doom taking control of the Sentinels, and I think it looks legitimate despite its unfinished effects.

Heavy Spoilers (AI-assisted)8 October 2026 · Editor: Digital Fox Talent Editorial Team 1,480 words · 7 min read

In June, a big leak from Avengers: Doomsday showed a massive scene from the film. It also confirms a couple of theories we had about the movie. I want to break down exactly what happens in it, whether I think it is real, and clear up a few questions around it.

This Is Not the CinemaCon Footage, It's a Brand New Scene

The first thing to clear up is that this is not the footage that was shown at CinemaCon. A couple of accounts were saying that was the case, but this is an entirely new scene that happens in the latter part of the movie.

I have seen a higher quality version of this clip, and to my eyes it looked pretty legitimate. I do not think it is AI because of the way the characters move, and the rough effects look to me like the effects simply had not been finished yet. There was a blue screen hue around some of the actors, which I do not think people faking it would bother to fake.

Why I Think the Leak Is Real, With Some Caveats

Does that mean it is real for sure? I don't know. Not in these times, when I've seen videos of Michael Jackson meeting Jesus and Gandhi. If you've been following along for a while, you'll know I only tend to do leak videos about two or three times a year, because most of what floats around out there is fake. It just so happened there had been four massive leaks in the month before, and it felt like the old days of Kevin Spoilers. But yes, I do think this one is real.

I also thought an HD copy would probably leak, because once something like this is shared, it is out there and you cannot get it back. A lot of people in the debate around this clip think it is AI, and again, I have seen Michael Jackson meeting Muhammad Ali, so I get the skepticism. But personally I lean toward it being real, with it simply having unfinished effects.

Beyond the visuals, the clip lines up with other things I've heard about the movie, including the location, the looks of the characters, and where things go down. On top of that, copies of the clip are getting pulled through DMCA claims, which does not tend to happen if something is fake. So personally, I think this is more likely real, and not by a little.

Doom Takes Command of the Sentinels in a Massive X-Mansion Battle

The clip itself shows a large-scale battle crossover fight on what I believe are the grounds of the X-Mansion. In it, we have several people from the Avengers, the Avengers with a Z, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, all going up against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doom, who is wearing his mask and costume throughout. The scene appears to be mid-battle, with Doom stepping forward and starting up his powers. Sentinels around the ground then begin to glow green, with their eyes taking on that color.

It reminds me a lot of X-Men '97's first episode, where there is basically a Sentinel graveyard that all raises up and starts fighting the X-Men. If you saw the breakdown of the CinemaCon trailer, you'll know we had a theory that Doom would take over the machines, akin to his Doom bots, using them as part of his forces. This clip seems to confirm that.

Thor, Steve Rogers, and an Alternate Timeline Captain America

It then cuts to Thor helping Steve Rogers stand up. Thor sticks out his arm and pulls Stormbreaker toward himself, while Steve is carrying Mjolnir. Steve then pulls another man toward him, dressed in a black t-shirt and combat pants, with long hair and a beard, which is close to the look he had in Infinity War. I do not know if this is leaning toward a Nomad look, but the guy is not really in a costume at all.

We did hear from earlier leaks that the movie opens with this version of Steve having a kid with Peggy, which is when the TVA arrives. They tell him he cannot live in that universe, then drop him off in the Fantastic Four universe, where he has to lie low.

The Leaked Plot Connects Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and an Incursion Into the X-Men World

Apparently the film then picks up at the end of Fantastic Four, when Doom goes to Sue and tells her there is an anomaly in this universe causing an incursion. Reed scans the world for it, and it picks up Steve, which is when they go to meet him. Together they then head to the 616, which takes us to the end of Thunderbolts.

From there, the Fantastic Four, Steve Rogers, and Doom, who has come along with them, travel to see about what is happening with the multiverse. They meet with the 616 heroes, then go to the X-Men universe, which we learn is the one colliding with the 616. This is where they meet Monica. Doom then does what I'd call his usual turn, and the fighting breaks out at the mansion.

Sentinels Rise From the Ground as Yelena, Nightcrawler, and Shang-Chi Appear

In the clip, the camera spins while the Sentinels start to rise out of the ground, and at that point we cut to Yelena. I have no idea what she is going to do about the Sentinels, but it is a big moment that echoes the camera spin from the first Avengers movie.

Dust drops away from the Sentinels as they rise, and then we cut to Nightcrawler and Shang-Chi. Shang-Chi is wearing what he wore toward the end of his solo film, and Nightcrawler has bleach blonde hair. Doom then raises all the Sentinels around him, with about ten or twelve standing guard over his shoulder.

Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Mystique, and Sam Wilson's Captain America Round Out the Team

We then start cutting to the rest of the team, made up primarily of the X-Men. The first one shown is Beast, looking the way he did at the end of The Marvels, except missing the lab coat. We then see James Marsden's Cyclops, standing in the costume we saw in the teaser earlier in the year. There is also a fountain around the grounds, which is part of why I think this is the X-Mansion, building off an earlier shot where Sentinels could be seen in the background.

The camera spins over Cyclops's shoulder to show Gambit and Nightcrawler teleporting in beside him. Gambit is played once more by Channing Tatum, and he looks basically the same as he did in Deadpool and Wolverine. Nightcrawler then teleports out and back in with Mystique, who is wearing a costume similar to her comic look. I have no idea what she is going to do here either, since I am not sure her power set suits a fight like this.

Captain America then flies in, with Sam Wilson in the dark blue suit and the shield. Throughout the whole scene, Nightcrawler keeps dropping in and out while teleporting, making it a dynamic sequence with a lot of hero shots building toward the team being surrounded. The last person to drop in is Reed Richards, wearing the white coat we saw in earlier leaks. Cyclops then starts blasting, and the fight kicks off.

The Scene Made Me Feel Something I Hadn't Felt for the MCU in a While

I got kind of swept up in this one and felt something I hadn't felt for the MCU in a while. It was probably the way the camera moves, the sweeping shots of the scene, and the heroes dropping in, which all felt like the old days before a massive moment in one of the Avengers films. Seeing the X-Men back in shot like this brought a tear to what I'd call my stone cold heart, where I hate everything, Marvel, DC, and Star Wars included.

A Second Leak Reportedly Shows Tobey Maguire, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman in Mocap Suits

There was also a leaked image of Tobey Maguire in a mocap suit, Ryan Reynolds in his Deadpool one, and Hugh Jackman wearing his Wolverine suit complete with a yellow headpiece, which I am guessing gets the mask added through CGI. I think that one is real as well, and I have heard that a fight between these three is how the movie opens, caused by their worlds colliding in an incursion. Those were the two major leaks at the time, along with a Brand New Day trailer from a couple of weeks earlier.

Why I Think These Leaks Keep Happening

My take is that this is such a massive project that people working on it get excited, and everyone has a camera in their pocket now. Someone shares something, it gets sent to someone else, and before long you cannot get it back. I don't even think disappearing messages help that much, since someone could just film a phone screen, though that would be highly illegal and I would never do that myself.

It does seem like we're in for more of this before the film releases, and I expect plenty of people arguing over whether each leak is fake. I go through this with every leak, and when I said the Andrew Garfield clip from No Way Home was real, it didn't help that people were making videos claiming it was faked when it was actually genuine. I don't have the energy to go through that cycle again, which is honestly why I don't do leak videos that often.

What did you make of this leaked scene, and do you think it holds up once the full film releases?
