Kristian Harloff Calls House of the Dragon Season One Finale Pure Gold

My immediate reaction to the House of the Dragon season one finale is that I do not even know the last time I saw a season finale like this. Watching it, I went through so many different emotions, sadness, happiness, I was cracking up at points, I was cursing at the television, I was moving around, I could not believe it. It was just a great, great finale and lead up into a second season.

I said I want HBO Max to stop spending money on anything else and just give us a second season as fast as possible, though I added that I was kidding, because I actually want them to put as much time and effort into it as they can.

The Performances, Especially Emma D'Arcy and Matt Smith, Stood Out

I said give the Emmy to Emma D'Arcy for this performance, and I praised Matt Smith as Daemon along with everyone else in the cast and every character across the season. Looking at the build up from episode one all the way to where the story landed in this finale, I said you cannot believe what is happening, and it is not just shock, it makes sense for the story. That is what made it, in my words, pure gold.

I called this one of the best seasons of television maybe ever, especially as an inaugural, first season, because of how invested I became thanks to everything put forward in the build up and everything that happens along the way.

A Warning That Parts of the Finale Are Graphic and Hard to Watch

I said, without spoiling anything, that this episode was not for the faint of heart. There is graphic, heartbreaking material in it, stuff that is genuinely hard to watch, and I said I do not think it will work for everybody. I admitted certain parts made me want to turn away, and I almost did. Even so, I did not think it was gratuitous. I thought it fit completely.

My overall verdict was simple: "This was absolutely amazing I loved it." I said I planned to post a full spoiler review after this initial reaction rather than doing the spoiler review first.
