New Report Claims Avengers Secret Wars Will Focus on Heroes Left Out of Doomsday

A report from Daniel RPK suggests Avengers Secret Wars centers on characters who got little or no screen time in Avengers Doomsday, while leaked concept art points to a Doctor Doom victory.

A new report about Avengers Secret Wars may tell us something about how Avengers Doomsday ends. I think most of us expect Doomsday to play out kind of like Avengers Infinity War, where the villain wins, and I think most of us expect Doom to come out on top in some way, shape, or form.

Leaked concept art that came from Marvel has shown Doom creating Battleworld and ruling over it from a throne, with Doctor Strange, Sue Storm, and Franklin Richards standing at his sides. So in one way or another, it does look like Doom ends up victorious.

Daniel RPK's report says Secret Wars will focus on characters sidelined in Doomsday

Avengers Doomsday already has a lot of people confirmed, with more reportedly on the way according to Marvel, Robert Downey Jr., and insiders. But according to a new report from Daniel RPK, Avengers Secret Wars is going to focus on characters who did not get a lot of screen time, or any screen time, in Doomsday.

I know some people do not know how to feel about that, and I have seen a lot of comments online about it, but I think it could actually be really, really good. I do want to clear something up though, because I think people are taking this the wrong way. The Thunderbolts, the new Fantastic Four, the new Avengers, all of them will still be a focus of Secret Wars. It is other characters who do not have big roles in Doomsday who are going to get pretty big focus for at least part of the movie.

Battleworld citizens without memories could set up the first act

I believe I know what that focus is, especially given how Battleworld works. When Doom creates Battleworld and combines all of these universes, the people living on it do not remember anything from before. That is how it works in the comics too. They only know that Doom, their god, created the world and saved them, and literally created them, which is why he is called God Emperor Doom. That, plus the fact that he has the powers of a god.

So I think a lot of our main heroes are going to be on Battleworld without remembering what happened before, and it is going to be up to a smaller group of heroes, who were probably not on Battleworld, to try to awaken them. Those are probably the characters who get the focus for at least the first act of Secret Wars.

Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine fit the pattern

We have heard that the opening scene of Avengers Doomsday is a fight between Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, with Deadpool also there. Some reports say Deadpool goes back to the X-Men universe, and some say he stays as the incursion happens. Either way, it looks like the movie wants us to believe Tobey and Hugh die, but I am assuming they get out somehow, possibly through the TVA.

Based on Daniel RPK's report, I believe those two, Spider-Man and Wolverine, are two of the main characters for Secret Wars. We have heard this before too, that Tobey and Wolverine get small roles in Doomsday but come back for bigger roles later, so this is all starting to line up.

Loki may be building his own team behind the scenes

I also think Deadpool is going to have a pretty big role, and I think Loki is going to have a really big role in this movie. My theory is that Loki is doing a lot behind the scenes in Doomsday that we will not be shown until Secret Wars. Since Loki is connected to all of the branches and can see what is coming, I think he has been taking measures to make sure some people can survive in case they lose, basically putting together his own team in the background.

A theory about Deadpool pulling Tom Holland's Spider-Man and the Hulk to safety

Chris, from the team, has a theory that Deadpool might show up via a TVA teleporter and take Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Sadie Sink's character, and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk somewhere to survive the coming incursion. I believe that somewhere could be the void, where these characters survive the destruction of the multiverse, return in Secret Wars, and go on a mission to awaken the heroes trapped on Battleworld before everyone eventually goes up against Doctor Doom. This is roughly the plot I think we are getting for Secret Wars, and it does follow some of what happens in the comics.

Three Spider-Men could reunite once more

We have also heard that the three Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland, and Andrew Garfield, will reunite once more. I personally think it is a no-brainer and a good idea. Not having them all together in Brand New Day, and not bringing them all together in Doomsday, but instead letting Tobey do his own thing with Wolverine, which is something fans have wanted since 2000, is a good move. Bringing them back together in Secret Wars before the multiverse resets would be fantastic, since No Way Home was great and one more time together would be welcome.

Tom Holland is not confirmed to appear in Avengers Doomsday, and neither is the Hulk, nor Sadie Sink's character, at least not that we have heard. Sadie Sink is, however, confirmed to appear in Avengers Secret Wars. Deadline has confirmed that she signed a three-picture deal covering Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers Secret Wars, and a third film I believe to be an X-Men movie. Based on what insiders have said and what the trailer has shown, I think she is Jean Grey, though that is not confirmed.

Cassie Lang and the Young Avengers could repeat Ant-Man's Quantum Realm role

We have heard the Young Avengers will have a pretty important role toward the end of Doomsday, and then a bigger role in Secret Wars. Cassie Lang is supposed to be very important, and I can only imagine that means she takes some people into the Quantum Realm. Alex Perez from cosmiccircus.com seemingly hints that she serves the same role Ant-Man served in Avengers Endgame, which led to everybody discovering time travel.

I think once the multiverse is destroyed, time travel gets complicated since there is no space or time to travel through, but I do believe Cassie could take people into the Quantum Realm to survive. Much like in Endgame, time would work differently there, so outside it might be five years since Battleworld was formed, while inside it might only be five hours.

Rumors point to a Scarlet Witch rescue mirroring Children's Crusade

The Young Avengers' story might revolve around the Scarlet Witch. These are rumors we have been hearing, nothing confirmed, but there has been a lot of rumbling that she is coming back without a big focus in Doomsday, possibly getting a bigger focus in Secret Wars. We have heard the Young Avengers might go on a mission to save her from Doom, who is reportedly using her for power and has locked her up in his castle. Again, that is a rumor and nothing confirmed, but I would really love to see it.

It sounds like the Children's Crusade storyline from the comics, though not page for page, since in the comics Doctor Doom is about to marry Wanda and the Young Avengers rescue her. I would like to see the rescue in the MCU, just not Doom marrying Wanda, since we know he grabbed Sue Storm for himself, seemingly as a way to stick it to Reed.

Mystery characters and cameos may be saved for Secret Wars

There could also be other mystery characters and cameos, with more new characters reportedly coming in Secret Wars. We have not heard anything about Iceman, about the other Jean Grey from the Kinberg X-Men films, or about Halle Berry's Storm. Reports claim they are not in Doomsday. Maybe they are not in that movie, or maybe Marvel Studios is saving some characters for the next film because there is a very specific story to tell.

I also would not be surprised if Jessica Alba shows up, or if we get another version of Reed Richards played by Ioan Gruffudd or Miles Teller, possibly as the Maker, an evil version of Reed Richards. I would expect some of these mystery cameo appearances, even ones that run longer than a typical cameo, mostly in Secret Wars rather than Doomsday.

Overall, I think most of the people we see in Doomsday, the vast majority of the main characters rather than variants, end up in Secret Wars without remembering anything from before Battleworld. A handful of characters who managed to stay away from Battleworld, whether in the void or the Quantum Realm, come together, realize what they have to do, awaken everybody, and then everyone charges against God Emperor Doom, who is strong enough that it would take everybody to beat him. I like this because the reports all seem to be pointing toward it, and it does follow, a little bit, what happens in Secret Wars in the comics.

Which group of sidelined heroes would you want to see carry the first act of Secret Wars?
