Digital aliens theory: do advanced civilizations skip spaceships?

A theory that advanced civilizations upload themselves into a digital realm, and why that might explain UFO sightings and the absence of spaceships

Digital aliens theory: do advanced civilizations skip spaceships?

I have a theory I've been thinking about for years that might help explain what the phenomena actually is. In my opinion, an advanced civilization or intelligence will eventually shed the biological, physical body and transcend into a digital realm, a digital universe, and become digital. I call them digital aliens.

There are many theories out there for what the phenomena is: time traveling humans from the future, interdimensional beings, ultraterrestrials, extraterrestrials. Mine is different. That's why we don't see spaceships flying around, because advanced civilizations are in a whole different world, this digital realm.

Why advanced civilizations might not need spaceships

The way I see it, we don't see spaceships flying around because advanced civilizations are in a whole different world. They're in this digital realm, this digital universe that exists out there, and you can't see it with the naked eye. It's a whole other existence.

Think of a character in a game. Where is he, exactly? He's in another realm. He's electrical currents firing back and forth inside a motherboard, or however the game is being played. You need a screen to even see him and control him.

I want to be clear that this isn't the simulation theory. I'm not saying we're being controlled, and I'm not saying another advanced civilization created us. I'm saying that eventually, as we progress, we ditch these bodies and upload ourselves, if you will, to this digital universe. That's what's out there, and that's where advanced civilizations are.

The case for a digital body over a biological one

Biological bodies are old school. This stuff wears down and breaks down. If I'm digital, I can live forever and copy myself. The amount of space is infinite, but in a real and achievable way.

In a digital existence you could travel distances instantly. You could reset everything, change everything, whatever you want. When I look at the pros and cons of a biological body versus a digital body, I can't see why a society wouldn't make that change.

I think you get so advanced that you realize "the physical world is so limiting." When you're in the digital world, "it's the same but better." It's like the world of The Matrix, but for everything, everywhere, and that's the real world where people live. It's not a simulation. It's another type of existence.

Where the digital alien idea came from

I've had this theory for years, and I even explained it on my old podcast. It came way before I was into UFOs. For a long time I just thought of physical beings in physical craft.

The idea started when I was trying to think of a cool alien invasion movie. I thought it would be cool if the aliens showed up in our internet, on our computer screens and TV screens and all our little gadgets and watches. All of a sudden you'd see the aliens there, and they'd invade us digitally. There would be no big spaceship flying over Earth. In that story, aliens transcend into a totally different realm, because that's where we go as we advance.

Once I got much more into this topic, I thought that idea actually works. In my opinion, it could be a reason why things seem so unusual sometimes with the phenomena.

How digital aliens could explain the variety of UFO sightings

Maybe these beings can project themselves into the physical world. That might be why things look so different and odd, and why everyone has a bazillion different sightings with different kinds of craft.

There are craft shapes and sizes that many people do see. But there are also many shapes and sizes overall. All kinds of craft have been described, and lights, not even entire craft.

Again, I don't know. It's a crazy idea. I think if you're into this topic enough and you think about it enough, you come up with these sorts of things. To me it seems like a pretty reasonable explanation for where life goes as it advances.

The simulation theory logic, applied to uploading consciousness

Looking at our own society is where I came up with this. It follows the same line of thinking as the simulation theory. If we keep creating worlds, like in games, and keep going, eventually we will have the ability to create a reality indistinguishable from our own. At that point you start to ask whether we're in a simulation or base reality. If there are a bazillion options and only one base reality, what are the odds that we're in the actual base reality?

I apply that same line of thinking to progress in AI, technology and health. Look at Neuralink. We're already trying to become these half robot, half biological beings.

Eventually, I think, people are going to decide to upload their whole consciousness to this digital realm forever. That's what I think happens. We get so advanced that people start uploading themselves, and they're gone. We're gone forever, existing in this digital universe.

The electric universe theory and a natural digital realm

I used to think one of the problems with my theory was what controls this digital universe. Are there massive computers that have to hold it all together so we can exist in it?

Then I found out about the electric universe theory. The Y Files describes it as the idea that "instead of gravity the universe's true attractive force comes from invisible electric currents that surround our planet our solar system the galaxy and everything." In that telling, "we're all living in one giant universe spanning circuit."

So potentially, this digital universe is completely natural, and that's where real life is. Yes, we get life on planets and biological life. But eventually advanced life ditches physical matter and physical planets, because light speed is slow. The limitations of physics and base reality are slow, violent, aggressive and ambiguous, and beautiful as well. The digital realm is open, free, and what we want it to be. With the electric universe, maybe lightning and things like that are how they get around.

Not AI, and not a scientific claim

I'm not saying that's what the phenomena is. I'm not a scientist, an expert or a mathematician. I haven't done any formulas on this, and I'm not solving physics. I'm a regular guy who had some thoughts, and this is what I came up with by inferring where technology would go.

The movie Transcendence is similar in the sense that someone uploads his consciousness to a digital realm. In that movie, he's almost not himself. It's like a copy that learned everything about him, and it takes on a different personality. Maybe that's what happens. But I don't mean that you'd turn into a raging monster with all this power, though maybe you would. I mean something similar.

When I looked for this theory elsewhere, I couldn't find it. Everything talked about artificial intelligence, which could still be a possibility, with us interacting with intelligences we created inside this digital universe. That's not what I mean. I mean all advanced life across the universe, not only humans, reaching the point we're at with technology and eventually shedding the biological body. I'm sure my theory is out there somewhere under another name. If we were at a campfire, I'd be asking what you think about this. It's something fun to consider.

A Russian nesting doll of free will questions

The implication is that if civilizations really want to break past the limitations of reality, physics and the laws governing the universe, that's how they do it. The laws become almost nothing, and you create all of it within this digital realm. You can travel instantly, and there is no time in that sense.

Again, I'm not saying we're being controlled. I think that conversation is a "Russian nesting doll of thought." Once you start thinking about AI and control, you wonder whether this is a simulation, how you know you have free will, and whether your life is all laid out as the greatest script ever written, no matter how random your decisions seem. That's impossible for us to know at the end of the day.

What I keep coming back to is this: I think life is flying around, and we can't see it, because it's in this other realm. It would be like looking at your PlayStation and realizing your game characters are in there.
