David Grusch on Rogan: why did the media ignore his UFO claims?

Apart from one Fox segment, the networks ignored the whistleblower's claims about recovered craft and alien species, and I think that silence deserves a closer look

David Grusch on Rogan: why did the media ignore his UFO claims?

David Grusch went on Joe Rogan's podcast and talked about confirmation of alien species, craft that have been recovered, and secret programs. The mainstream media didn't touch it. This is a man who testified in front of Congress, and outside of one Fox News segment there's been almost no coverage of what he said. To me, that's still bewildering.

I approach this from a skeptical point of view. But I think the silence itself tells a story, and I want to walk through why.

Why the media ignoring David Grusch on Joe Rogan doesn't add up

One answer could be that the networks don't find Grusch credible. If that's the case, fine. Then it shouldn't be on the news. But if they won't cover it because they don't believe it, that's different, and I think there's something else there.

Grusch testified under oath and said these things, and that testimony was covered by various outlets. He was a whistleblower, and he was hired afterwards. So even if you don't believe him, I find it odd that media outlets won't run a simple report along the lines of: remember that guy who testified? He's back in the news. He went on the Joe Rogan podcast, which hosted politicians during the election, and those appearances were covered everywhere. Here's what Grusch is saying now.

Apparently Fox did cover it, and from what I can tell it's the same host who covered this topic before, including the species claims. I'm terrible with names, and I don't follow mainstream news closely. But I pay attention to what it covers, because many people still get their news there. Will this carry on to anyone else? Probably not. Still, it's good that at least one show is covering it.

What the Fox segment said about Grusch's alien claims

The segment opened with: "A UFO whistleblower just dropped new details about aliens on our planet." It described Grusch as a retired Air Force officer who sat down with Rogan and told him about aliens that looked like Greek gods. In the Rogan exchange it played, Grusch described them as human looking and "very very beautiful," with skin he called bluish white, like a pale sort of albino.

The segment said it wasn't just Greek gods. According to its summary of Grusch's claims, he said reptilians had been found: seven feet tall, built like a gorilla, with scaly skin. They were allegedly flying what Grusch called a tic tac shaped UFO that crash landed on our soil, and the segment said they didn't come in peace.

Grusch claims one of them killed one of our own, so we returned fire and killed the reptilians. He also reported that another kind of alien, the Grays, were found dead at the scene, and that we weren't the ones who killed them. In the Rogan exchange, the assumption was that there had been some kind of conflict, because there were dead Grays there too.

The government-side answer: find the material or no case

The segment then turned to a guest who said it's his privilege to work with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Pentagon, trying to find the material objects Grusch is talking about. He asked whether they're real and out there, and said that if they're found, it's case closed and easy to conclude we're being visited. He added that it's possible the corporations are withholding these materials.

I was curious what his response would be. Sometimes he gives the diplomatic answer, which he does here, and sometimes it's more along the lines of: we'll have to see how it works out. But he's saying that where he works, they're trying to get answers. I always wonder and worry when people work for the system that they get corrupted by the system. So who knows what he'll ultimately end up doing.

I did like the follow up in the segment: "We can't continue the cover up. This thing's been covered up for decades and decades." People who follow this topic have been saying that forever. If it's been covered up this long, it needs to come out. If we get to one more moment where we're almost there and don't get it, it's the same disappointing, vicious cycle repeating again and again.

Chris Cuomo's point: nobody is refuting Grusch

I've mentioned this many times and I'll keep doing so, because I think Chris Cuomo made a good point when he talked about the Pentagon side of this. His argument was that here's a man out there making these claims, and no one is making a statement to refute them. They're staying silent. There's no follow up saying what Grusch is saying isn't factually true.

As far as I know, no one has said that. I don't believe anyone has said it about these new claims either.

Are reporters being told not to touch the UFO story?

What drives me bananas is that there's got to be somebody, and maybe there is, a reporter trying to do this. This happened back in the day with local stories. A reporter would bring a UFO crash story to the head of the network, and the answer would be: don't touch that, we'll look like idiots.

So maybe someone said they want to ask the press secretary about the claims Grusch made on Rogan, and the answer was don't go near it. That's possible. Certainly possible.

It isn't about ratings, and NewsNation shows why

If this story never leads the news, it isn't about ratings. UFO stories draw views every single time. Take NewsNation as an example. Around 2023 and 2024, beyond Ross Coulthart's reporting, they covered various UFO topics, putting out three to six clips a day. Those dwarfed anything they put out on the regular news, where CNN and Fox destroy them because that's not who people go to for it.

When it came to UFO news, NewsNation was the only one really doing it, and their views were through the roof. This is a topic everyone is curious about.

Imagine leading with it. Put the resources in. Hold a round table on what Grusch said, with people challenging it: if we have this, why isn't that true? How do we know he's telling the truth? Others could point to earlier claims and say there's a possibility. I did a 25 minute breakdown going through each of his clips. It would be a discussion. Instead, it's ignored.

Could people inside the networks be keeping things quiet?

To me, that shows a possibility. It's just a possibility, but it would make sense. George Knapp always says, and I quote him to exhaustion, that the people who want to keep the secrets quiet are "better at their jobs than we are at ours."

If that were you, wouldn't you put people in the networks who share your agenda to keep things quiet, consistently, from the time you got into power until now? Wouldn't you say: cover Congress, fine, talk about it, but don't cover that, don't make those claims, ignore it, call him a crazy person?

It's possible. You could also say that's a reach and just tinfoil hat stuff. That's also possible. But everything is possible, which is the point.

Why traditional media coverage still matters for UAP disclosure

I haven't seen as much pushback on this lately, but some people ask who cares about traditional media anymore. Unfortunately, that's not the case. If nobody cared, there'd be no stations. I don't disagree that younger generations, Gen Z and others, may be getting their news through social media. Very possible. But these programs still reach many people on both sides of the aisle, and when they cover something and take it seriously, it's amazing how the narrative shifts.

A segment like this wouldn't have aired at all four years ago. It's a progression, but we need to see more of it. More players are showing up, including the guest in that segment, who's been involved in this and now works for the government. These are small things that could lead to more information coming out as more tranches drop.

One thing I found interesting from Grusch on Rogan was that people have been frustrated with the releases so far, but maybe more comes out. He seemed so adamant that by the end of this administration we'd get the reveal and things would change. To me, that suggests someone gave him information, because that's a real claim. And if that does come out, I don't see how the news could ignore it then.
