Could Russia or China beat the US to UFO disclosure?

The congressman argues that deep state gatekeeping has left an opening for adversaries, and he points to reports about a Russian telescope picking up signals

Could Russia or China beat the US to UFO disclosure?

Rep. Burlison believes the amount of UAP information the administration has released so far may have handed China and Russia a step up in the race to disclosure. His argument is that a deep state still holding on to information has created a vacuum, and that adversaries could use it to announce first. That idea makes sense to me, but there's a fair question on the other side of it that I want to work through.

Burlison has done a number of interviews, and the topic of UAP comes up in most of them because it's one of his major areas. I think it was Fox Business where he made these comments.

Burlison says a deep state vacuum has given Russia and China an opportunity

Burlison framed it as secrets being revealed that have been held by the government for "somewhat like 70 years." He said a couple hundred documents have been released, "but I don't know that it's enough." In his view, there's growing frustration that the United States probably has a lot more it could reveal, and he thinks the president himself is frustrated in his effort.

In that vacuum, he said, there is "a very deep state that's still holding on to a lot of information," regardless of what the president is trying to do. He thinks that has clearly given an opportunity to some of America's adversaries. His concern is that they may try to undermine the United States and its legacy of being the most transparent nation "by coming out before we do."

The Russian telescope signals Burlison cited from a Daily Mail article

Burlison pointed to a recent Daily Mail article. According to his account of it, a NASA scientist was in contact with European radio technologists who were able to verify that a Russian telescope had, by their account, received signals that they were decoding.

He said they are not certain the messages were actually decoded. What he said he does know is that the telescope was destroyed in August 2025, but that Russia moved it to China and continued operations. That's why he said there is a concern that they may try to undermine the United States by coming out before the US does.

Why UFO disclosure gets compared to a new space race

Many people have said UAP and UFO disclosure is comparable to the space race, and I think Grusch was among those who have talked about it. If that's the truth, I'd say it's far grander than the space race. Getting to the moon first is one thing. Announcing that we're not the only ones here, that we're not the only life in this galaxy, that we've been visited and have proof of it, is something else. Who cares about the moon if all the things that have been rumored turn out to be true?

That could be one of the arguments the deep state might be making. Something along the lines of: we told you not to announce any of this, there are things you won't be able to get to, and by putting this out there you're letting adversaries have an opportunity to get there first. I don't know. That's one side of the argument.

Frustration with document tranches that aren't moving the needle

The other side is what happens if Burlison is right that even the president is frustrated he can't put more out there. Many people, using the Grusch interview on Rogan as an example, have said that the tranches released so far are not enough. People are getting frustrated, and new information has to come out sooner or later because, as they see it, the releases aren't moving the needle.

Even the recent black triangle case is an example. A lot of credible people said they saw the thing, and what came with it was artwork of what they said it looked like. It's a really good artist, but it's not the actual photo. People are frustrated by that because, by Burlison's account and from what others have said many times over, there's red tape around all of this. You can talk about one thing, but not another.

The Bush era disclosure meeting Hal Puthoff described

If you go back to the interviews Hal Puthoff gave, I think it was when he was talking to Rogan, he described a meeting during the Bush administration, meaning George Bush senior. A group of people sat around and discussed whether to release this information to the public. I think it was a majority who voted no.

So is whatever group evolved out of that, the next wave of whoever is in charge of that side, still saying it's not the time yet? Fine. Let them release whatever they want, whether it turns out to be gas or a balloon. I think we're past the taboo now, and people are talking and discussing it. But Russia and China don't necessarily hold to that.

Why haven't Russia or China disclosed already?

Here's the flip side. If that's probably true, why haven't they done it already? There are probably a lot of answers, but you can certainly ask it. Why haven't they said that if the US isn't going to do this, they don't have to stay true to any agreement anymore and will announce what they have?

The idea of Russia apparently or supposedly picking up a signal with that telescope immediately reminds me of Independence Day or Contact. We always assume, because of the movies, that it will be the States. But who says that? And who says they were going to share any of that information with us? Then there's the possibility that they're collaborating with China and could be the first to disclose.

If I were one of those countries wanting to beat the US, I'd be looking at the tranches and asking whether they'll lead to a real announcement, or whether they're only putting it into public opinion. From social media, it's not being treated that seriously outside of YouTube and social media. Yet when a news organization puts out a clip on this topic, it's their highest rated topic. There's also what the administration has said about sites crashing over the files. People are very interested, and it's bizarre that the mainstream media still isn't covering it.

Does this give US adversaries a leg up on UAP disclosure?

You could make the argument that it probably would, if the US keeps putting things out without showing enough of the real material. Another country sniffing around might conclude that the president really wants to do it, but has a lot of problems with the people running it. There are so many what ifs. I don't know.

Overall, it would make sense that any country with information about UAP or NHI, whether that's China, Russia or Brazil, would want to be the one to tell the world what it knows factually. Why would any other government be beholden to the deep state's worldview that society can't handle it? Is there some long-standing agreement? Possible. Do they lack concrete proof? Also possible. But the idea of what Burlison said here makes sense to me.
