WandaVision Episode 4 Was Short, but Its Corpse Vision Reveal Was Amazing

The SWORD episode revealed a darker Wanda, even if the TV talk got a little too meta

WandaVision episode 4 was short, but it was amazing. The episode stepped outside Westview to follow SWORD, and it ended on a reveal that became my favorite part by far: Vision is a corpse. I got up at 2 a.m. to see it the moment it arrived, and Marvel had held this one from press. That made me expect something incredible, and it delivered.

Vision as a corpse was the dark turn I loved

I like the dark stuff, so seeing Vision as a dead body with a hole blasted in his head was the high point for me. Wanda is walking a corpse around with his head blown out, and "that's dark for Marvel." I loved it. I'm so glad it wasn't spoiled before I saw it. It was iconic, in a good way.

Wanda going full dark and full villain was the coolest thing about the episode, and seeing Marvel go in that direction was exciting. It feels like Wanda has lost her mind. It reminded me of a Batman story. Then there's the question of what happened to the beekeeper when she rewound.

Monica Rambeau's blip opened the episode on a sad note

The other standout was the opening, when Monica blipped back into existence and out of a promotion. I felt for her. She lost her mom and her position at the head of SWORD. Still, I love seeing women do so well in the MCU: Peggy Carter did SHIELD and Maria Rambeau did SWORD. Darcy and Jimmy Woo also make a great new comedy team.

My one complaint is that the episode got a little too meta for me. The characters talked about TV so much that it started to take me out of it.

The questions I was left with

I want to see what happened when Wanda blipped back. You return where you vanished, so maybe she came back into the Endgame fight and later wondered where she'd left Vision. Someone raised a good point, though: it had been five years, so his body may have been moved. She was also in Wakanda, so how did she get all the way back?

Maybe Hydra is involved too, or maybe Wanda made everything up, including the Hydra ad. It does seem that Wanda is the only one in control here, but then the question is who Agnes is. Dottie not being on the board could be a misdirect, because she hadn't shown up in the episodes at that point. I think Wanda is censoring the broadcast. The sitcom setup makes no sense unless she has truly gone mad.

As for the hexagons, I think they come from Wanda's hex power, though I don't know why she'd think of a hexagon. I don't think it has anything to do with AIM. It was really short, but it was amazing.
