King Kong Beats the Indominus Rex, and Skull Island Proves It

Weighing Kong's fight against three V-Rexes against the Indominus Rex's kill count, I think Kong comes out on top once he gets his hands on her.

Can King Kong defeat the Indominus Rex? I think he can, and once he gets his hands on her, I believe it is really all over.

The first thing I look at with this fight is that Kong has kind of already done something like it before. On Skull Island, King Kong fought three gigantic V-Rexes, which I describe as 40 to 50 foot evolved versions of T-Rexes, all at the same time. He fought all three simultaneously while also trying to protect someone, and he still managed to kill all three and win the fight. That gives Kong experience in this exact kind of scenario.

The Indominus Rex Can Be So Much Worse Than an Evolved V-Rex

The counterpoint I raise is that the Indominus Rex can be so much worse than a T-Rex, even an evolved version like a V-Rex. She was genetically bred to be the worst of the worst. She is just as big as a V-Rex, but with much larger arms and claws. She is also extraordinarily smart, smart enough to remove her own tracking implant and trick humans.

On top of that intelligence, I point out she has abilities that read almost like powers, including masking her own thermal heat signature and pulling off impressive high level camouflage. She is also a physical powerhouse in her own right, able to crack the gyrosphere, which I note is tough enough to stop bullets point blank, and able to take a hit from an Ankylosaurus.

Her Kill Count Includes an Apatosaurus Herd, an Ankylosaurus, and a T-Rex

The Indominus Rex was able to slaughter a whole Apatosaurus herd and kill an Ankylosaurus. She went on to dominate her fight against the T-Rex once the element of surprise wore off. While the Indominus is definitely dangerous, I circle back to Kong's own resume and I think this fight is going to play out in a really similar way.

Kong has shown way better agility, along with long powerful arms that let him control a dinosaur's head and neck. He has shown he can take bites and keep on fighting, and he has even shown the ability to break bones and snap jaws.

Why I Still Give Kong the Edge Despite Her Longer Arms and Higher IQ

I do think the Indominus Rex's long arms and greater intelligence are going to make her much harder for Kong to control, which means she is going to be able to injure him in this fight.

But I think that disadvantage is way offset by the fact that Kong does not have to battle three opponents at once this time, and he is not having to protect anyone else at the same time either.

Once King Kong survives the first moments of the fight and gets his hands on the Indominus Rex, I think it is really all over. King Kong wins.

Do you think the Indominus Rex's intelligence and longer reach would be enough to change that outcome?
