Captain America vs Deathstroke: Who Wins a Straight Fight Between Marvel's and DC's Super Soldiers?

Two enhanced soldiers, a shield against a sword, and a fight that could last for days. Here is how I see Steve Rogers against Slade Wilson playing out.

Captain America versus Deathstroke might be one of the closest fights we've done, but in a straight up fight I think Steve would win. It would not be easy, and if Deathstroke gets time to hunt Captain America down, I would pick Slade instead.

Captain America and Deathstroke Are Two of the Best Fighters in Their Universes

On paper these two mirror each other. Both are enhanced soldiers, and both are some of the best fighters in their universe. Captain America has the shield. Deathstroke has the sword. They are so closely matched that, as I see it, "They could probably fight for hours or days and both still be standing."

Deathstroke Is Probably the More Dangerous Man Overall

I'm going to argue that Slade is probably the more dangerous guy overall. He is superhumanly strong and fast, and he has a slight healing factor. He also comes into the fight with far more weapons: guns, explosives, swords and his staff.

Deathstroke basically carries enough equipment to fight an entire team by himself, and that is exactly what he has done. He has fought Batman, Nightwing, Hawkman, the Titans, and even the Justice League before.

Captain America Routinely Beats Marvel's Elite Fighters

Captain America is basically the same thing over in Marvel. He is superhumanly strong, fast and tough. He has fought Wolverine, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Black Panther and Taskmaster, basically every elite fighter you can think of, and he routinely comes out on top.

Captain America's Shield Gives Steve Offense and Defense at Once

Then there is the shield. Cap can block bullets, redirect attacks, throw the shield from any angle and have it ricochet back. Unlike Slade's weapons, the shield gives Steve offense and defense at the exact same time. So even for as good as Deathstroke is, it is realistically going to be pretty hard for him to land solid hits on Cap.

Given Time, Slade Wins, but a Straight Fight Goes to Steve

If you give Deathstroke time to hunt down Captain America, I am going to pick Slade, because that is just what Slade does best.

In a straight up fight, though, I think Steve would probably win. Not easily, but Cap has the better physicals. He has the skill and experience to fight against anyone, and the shield is the ultimate equalizer, letting him block all of Deathstroke's attacks and seriously hurt Slade at the same time. It's really close, but my pick is Captain America.

Do you think Deathstroke's arsenal could get past Captain America's shield in a straight fight?
