DanCo Breaks Down Venom vs James Heller: Who Wins?

Venom versus James Heller, who wins? Thanks to Lucifer for the suggestion on this one. Venom has been one of Spider-Man's most powerful enemies and allies for years.

Venom is stronger and tougher than Spider-Man in most all of their fights, to the point where Venom is twice as strong as Peter. He can regenerate from most any attack or damage as long as the symbiote itself isn't entirely destroyed. The best part of his kit is that he can shape-shift and create all sorts of weapons out of his own body, including tendrils, webs, shields, blades, and wings, basically anything he wants.

James Heller Can Do Everything Venom Can, Powered by the Blacklight Virus

Being infected with the Blacklight virus, Heller is strong enough to casually throw around tanks, destroy helicopters, and bring down multi-story enemies. That alone puts him in a similar physical league to Venom, but his durability goes even further than raw strength suggests.

Heller is tough enough to shrug off city-block level explosions and is effectively immortal, able to keep going with half a body if he had to. On top of that, he can shape-shift and create weapons out of his own form, doing everything that Venom can do too. As I put it, "They basically had the same powers."

Why I Think Heller Wins After Absorbing Mercer's Power

Venom does get some nice scaling from being in the Marvel universe. He's more powerful than Spider-Man and has even managed to throw hands with the Hulk and Juggernaut before, which is nothing to dismiss.

But I think after Heller beat Mercer and absorbed his power, he just reached another level, able to spread his tendrils out across an entire city and consume all the infected at once. Considering that Heller gets more powerful the more he absorbs, I think he could probably just absorb Venom outright.

Weighing all of that, I think Heller has what it takes to come out on top here. James Heller wins.
