Ross Coulthart: did China really cut a deal with reptilians?

A secondhand claim tying US secrecy over non-human technology to China and reptilian beings raises questions about how UAP stories get reported

Ross Coulthart: did China really cut a deal with reptilians?

Ross Coulthart has said he's been told that one reason the US is so nervous about losing its edge in reverse engineered non-human technology is that the Chinese cut a deal with the reptilians. I have issues with this. My problem isn't with the hypothetical. It's with putting a claim like this out as something he's heard, with nothing behind it that anyone can follow up on.

Coulthart himself admits he can't prove it. Still, the claim points to something I've noticed. The UAP conversation has moved away from what's in the sky and toward the species people say are behind it.

How the UAP conversation shifted from craft to species since 2023

When I started covering this topic in 2023, most of the discussion was about what's in the sky and what it is. The idea was that it's more than balloons. The government was acknowledging that there are things it can't identify, instead of insisting it knows what everything is. The stigma was starting to fade, especially around military encounters.

Then came the congressional hearing with David Grusch, David Fravor and Ryan Graves. There was some mention of bodies and craft. Even so, much of that hearing amounted to witnesses saying there were certain things they just couldn't say in that setting. Over the last three years or so, more and more has come out. These are claims and conversations from other people, but they've been pushing into the news coverage of this topic.

Eric Davis has talked about the alien species. There are the grays, the ones you've seen in movies. There are the Nordics, tall, humanlike and majestic. And there are the reptilians and shape shifters. If this had been the first thing I ever heard about the topic, I'd have asked what people were talking about. Lizard people, tall good-looking people with blonde hair, grays having wars? But when you follow the lead up from 2023, and the reports from various high level officials, these stories start to blend together. I can't just say it's not true. Who knows? It's striking that the stories are now less about craft and bodies and more about species.

Ross Coulthart's claim that China cut a deal with the reptilians

Coulthart framed his comments around the very early days of Mao Zedong, the communist leader. "I'm told that one of the reasons we're so nervous about losing the edge with the development of reverse engineered non-human technology is because the Chinese cut a deal with the reptilians," he said. He then added: "Now, I have no way of establishing that and proving that if it's true, but wouldn't that be interesting?"

He went further. He suggested it would be absurd if the compartmentalization and secrecy around non-human intelligences came from a paranoid belief that revealing too much would help foreign adversaries, when those adversaries are probably ahead anyway. He asked whether much of the technology seen in our skies could be Chinese. He pointed to US officials citing Chinese drones to explain anomalous objects and asked what they know. And he wondered whether China's development of that technology came from a liaison with non-human beings of a reptilian background.

I always get skeptical with the things people say they've heard, because I just don't know if that's helpful right now.

Why I'm skeptical of Ross Coulthart's "this is what I'm hearing" reporting

Hypotheticals don't bother me. I've talked about plenty of them: what if these things work through quantum physics and bending space and time, what if it's light speed travel, what if the Miami incident was true. There's nothing wrong with that. I've also always prefaced my criticism of Coulthart the same way. I think he's one of the most important people in UFO media for what he did with Grusch, for his reporting, and for how much he cares. I think he's one of the more relevant and important voices in this space.

But there are times when I don't know what he's doing. The one I quote often is his statement that all hell was going to break loose. Nothing happened. It was a definitive statement and it didn't happen. That isn't what we need him for. We need him for breaking these stories down, having someone on and laying out what they've said. Lately, much of what we've seen from him, outside of interviews, breaking news or photos, has been "this is what I'm hearing."

I know it's a show and a podcast, and it might be completely hypocritical of me to criticize it. I'll take ownership of that. But there aren't many media shows that discuss this topic, and he's one of the ones that does. It's one thing for a guest to tell him something on the air, because then the follow up can come. It's another to say he's heard it from somebody. I do think he heard this from somebody. But nothing stops him from being in a room with someone who's out of their mind and says, "Hey, you know what I heard is this." I don't think that's what happened, but it could.

Mike Turner's exit and what a new House means for the UAP Disclosure Act

This also adds to the frustration over the tranches of information and whether we'll get any more of them, or any follow up. On top of that, there's going to be a new shift in the House. Mike Turner, by the way, is gone. Turner was one of the people David Grusch mentioned could be a roadblock, and he was a roadblock to the UAP Disclosure Act. When that bill was trying to get through, it was Turner blocking it, because of his relationship with private companies like Lockheed Martin.

Chuck Schumer was the one trying to get it passed. So the question is whether he tries again now that his party will be in control. Is there more support for it or less? Are there newly elected people who will call it nonsense and a distraction? Or is it the opposite, with the Garcias and Schumers of the world wanting to continue Harry Reid's pursuit? We don't know. A lot could happen.

If someone new comes in and asks what the news is, and the answer is a report about China having a deal with lizard people, that's going to be tough to sell.

What if China really did cut a deal with non-human beings

I don't want to only take the doubtful side, so let's take the other side. What if this is indeed true? What if the Chinese government cut this deal, and that's why we don't want any information out there, because we're worried it could give them more? What exactly we'd be nervous about isn't clear.

And if they did cut the deal and have technology that lets them do things we can't control, why stop at buzzing around every December and showing it off? Is it taunting, knowing we can't say anything because of the deal? It's hard to wrap my brain around, and it's hard to take all that seriously. That's not to say the existence of these beings isn't true. Look at what Eric Davis said, what Grusch said, what others have said many times. I think it was Jay Stratton who talked about seeing bodies, though I'm not sure he discussed species types.

Why a firsthand account like Jesse Michaels' would carry more weight

What frustrates me is the form. If Coulthart said he'd had a phone call with someone willing to speak about this, and here's what they said, that would be different. Jesse Michaels does this. There was a government official, I believe from the Soviet Union, though don't quote me, who talked about being visited. Jesse talked to him directly. He described being in a room, then gone, with his people unable to find him for a while, and then coming back out.

That was Jesse getting it from the mouth of the person telling the story. To me that's more effective, because you can break down the claim: here's who said it, and here's the detail. That beats "this is what I'm hearing."

I'll admit one thing. If it turns out these species are confirmed and this deal was indeed made with the Chinese government, and that comes out, I'm going to remember that I poo-pooed it. I'm going to look stupid. I just don't know that's going to happen.
