Doctor Doom's Six Day Battleworld Plan: The Returning Theory That Pairs Marvel Heroes With the Infinity Stones
An updated theory casts Franklin Richards, Galactus, Sentry, Scarlet Witch, Loki and Peter Parker as stand ins for the six stones, but key pieces do not fit
A theory that pairs Marvel heroes with the six Infinity Stones is back. This version says Doctor Doom uses specific characters from the Multiverse Saga to build Battleworld in six days before resting on the seventh. When I looked at it in November 2025, I felt the updated version made a lot more sense than the original. I still thought it falls down in exactly the same place it did the first time around.
The Infinity Stone theory was going around before Robert Downey Jr. was announced as Doctor Doom
Go back to early 2024, before Robert Downey Jr. was announced as Doctor Doom, an announcement that really changed the discourse surrounding Avengers 5 and 6. A theory was going around that the Avengers characters created a basic one to one for the Infinity Stones. It lined up Scarlet Witch with the Reality Stone. The two share the same colour, red, and basically the same abilities. The same could be said for Loki. He is green like the Time Stone, he can travel up and down the time stream, and he now sits at the centre of all of the timelines.
I never covered that theory, mostly because to me there always seemed to be holes in it. It was really hard to apply the Soul Stone. Yes, I know we have Adam Warlock, but that doesn't really make any sense in the context of the movies rather than the comics. The characters also hadn't been fully developed at that point. A lot has happened at the end of the Multiverse Saga with characters like Sentry and Franklin Richards.
Now the theory is back, with some obvious updates. It has made its rounds, even from Twitter scoopers, as a sort of plot leak. Really, though, it is still the same theory, with additions based on what we now know about Doom and the new characters. This time around, it makes a lot more sense.
Doom's Battleworld plan apparently mirrors the seven days of creation in Genesis
You may have seen this theory posted on Reddit or elsewhere on social media. People change it a little, but about 99% of it is the same. It says Doom will need seven days to create Battleworld, a direct metaphor for the creation story in the Book of Genesis. There, God needed six days to create the Earth, and on the seventh day he rested.
Apparently, Doctor Doom is going to do the same thing. He will need six days and six heroes to create Battleworld. On the seventh day he will rest on his throne over Battleworld, the same throne that Loki is presumably sitting on now. There are also six Infinity Stones, so each of those days lines up with a specific character and a specific stone. Each one supplies a power Doom needs to help him create Battleworld.
Franklin Richards, Galactus and Peter Parker supply space, power and soul
The first day is said to involve Doom manipulating Franklin Richards to create a primordial space for the new universe. Franklin comes from the Fantastic Four, and he is matched with the blue Space Stone. He is the one who creates the space for Battleworld.
On day two, Doom would go after Galactus, who is purple to match the Power Stone. Galactus would provide his cosmic energy, or cosmic power, and his technology to both create and engineer Battleworld.
On the third day, the Soul Stone is attributed to Peter Parker. He would be some sort of universal anchor being, or at least the anchor being in the 616. His soul would be sacrificed in order to capture the souls for Battleworld. Most of this stays the same from one version of the theory to the next, but I have also seen versions that give the Soul Stone to Shang-Chi's Ten Rings and Ms. Marvel's bangles. Where that is written, the artifacts are said to basically help Doom channel the energy needed to do all this. That doesn't really relate to the Soul Stone in any way.
Sentry, Scarlet Witch and Loki round out the Mind, Reality and Time Stones
The next pairing is interesting: Sentry as a stand in for the Mind Stone. Even these theories report that Doom basically wants to capture Sentry to power the core of Battleworld. They also say Sentry's ability to create the void within characters' minds would be harnessed like a hard drive for consciousness. In that way, he might stand in for the Mind Stone.
Doom would also manipulate Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, whose power is red and does absolutely replicate the Reality Stone. She would do exactly that: warp reality.
Finally, Doom would steal Loki's power to control time, the obvious Time Stone parallel. That would let him trigger the final incursion, the event that destroys the Multiverse. On day seven, he would take the throne Loki is now on and rest, sitting over Battleworld as God Emperor Doom.
Why I think Marvel Studios does not want to rehash the Infinity Stones
I think this upgrade may be a little more plausible. I also think it falls down in exactly the same place the first version did, which is why I never covered it. The problem is the attempt to match the heroes with the Infinity Stones. I do not believe Marvel Studios wants to rehash that or make another version of it for Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. I think they are trying to do something completely different.
I also have a problem with a lot of the pairings. When we looked at the earlier version over a year ago, different heroes were attributed to the stones. For instance, I think Monica Rambeau is a very obvious stand in for the Space Stone. She got her power from the Tesseract in the first place, and blue seems to be the colour of her power as well. You can go down the line with other characters too.
Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man and Galactus are unlikely to be in Avengers: Doomsday
Where this theory and the earlier one both fall down is that they rely on characters we do not think will be in Avengers: Doomsday. Number one, Scarlet Witch is dead in the MCU. "It's not pretty much confirmed, it is confirmed. She is gone." Marvel Studios could pluck a variant of her from across the Multiverse. Elizabeth Olsen could also be lying when she says she is not involved at all. Otherwise, she is not in the movie.
The same goes for Tom Holland's Peter Parker. "We have it on good word and from two trusted industry insiders that Tom Holland is not in Avengers: Doomsday." That means Spider-Man can't be the Soul Stone, and Wanda Maximoff can't be the Reality Stone. Lining up the Mind Stone with Sentry is, I think, an absolute stretch at best. Having the Soul Stone replicate whatever is going on with Shang-Chi's and Ms. Marvel's artifacts doesn't make any sense either.
Then there is the problem of Galactus. I do emphatically think Marvel Studios will bring him back in the future of the franchise. There is too much history between him and Franklin Richards. That is why they basically just displaced him in the 828 rather than actually defeating him. I do think Galactus will return. I would just bet against it being soon, and definitely not before the end of the Multiverse Saga in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars. So much of this is a stretch, or rather a reach, to make the theory work. It felt the same way the first time last year.
Hickman's Secret Wars ending makes a devil's advocate case for an Infinity Gauntlet
For a second, I need to play devil's advocate. I say Marvel Studios probably doesn't want to rehash the whole Infinity Stones thing. Even so, I have to mention the end of Jonathan Hickman's 2015 run, so spoiler warning if you are not familiar with that story. The ghost of Doctor Strange gives Black Panther and Namor two things: a device to travel, and a fully loaded Infinity Gauntlet. Black Panther wears that gauntlet to lead a horde of Marvel Zombies against God Emperor Doom and defeat him.
I sincerely think Marvel wants to move away from the Infinity Stones. This is still worth bringing up. When I wrote this in November 2025, a Marvel Zombies series had just gone live on Disney Plus. There were also a lot of rumours about a brand new T'Challa, or Prince T'Challa, whatever Marvel wants to do with that character. He might come from the Multiverse, or he might actually be Black Panther's son, grown up and aged forward in time by the time we get to Battleworld. They are really setting it up that well. It wouldn't be completely out of left field, because there is now canon to support it all.
If you think this theory holds water, which heroes would you pair with the Infinity Stones that make more sense than the obviously absent Scarlet Witch and Galactus?
