Alleged Avengers: Doomsday Leak Shows Doctor Doom Raising Sentinels, but It May Be AI

A heavily pixelated 144p clip spread across social media days after rumours and reports that stolen Doomsday material existed, and several details give me pause

Everything Always (AI-assisted)2 October 2026 · Editor: Digital Fox Talent Editorial Team 1,430 words · 7 min read

A major scene allegedly from Avengers: Doomsday surfaced in the lowest quality imaginable, 144p, super pixelated and watermarked, and it appears to show Doctor Doom using green magic to raise fallen Sentinels before the Avengers, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four assemble against him. At least part of me suspects the whole thing may be an AI rendering that someone deliberately degraded to make it look real.

Spoiler warning: the rest of this piece describes the alleged scene in detail. If you want to go into Avengers: Doomsday without knowing whether any of this will affect your experience, only you know, so back out now.

The Doomsday clip surfaced days after reports that stolen Spider-Man material came with Doomsday scenes

I was already in bed for the evening when my phone started going off, one message after another, everyone asking the same thing: had I seen the leak? This was very late on a Saturday night, heading into Sunday morning, and I stayed up to write about it that night.

The timing matters here. This alleged scene appeared just days after it was rumoured and reported that whoever stole the leaked Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailers also had pieces of Avengers: Doomsday, specifically three scenes and a poster. Then, all of a sudden, one of those supposed scenes was showing up extra pixelated with a watermark all over social media.

Why at least 10% of me thinks the Doomsday scene could be AI

I have to admit that at least 10% of me thinks this may be just an AI rendering that someone depixelated super heavily to make it seem real. That is only because we have seen so many very close and good trailer representations made with AI. As I put it at the time, "It's impossible to tell right now in 2026 what's real and what's not," especially if the quality has been downgraded on purpose.

AI has pervaded almost every area of creative media, and because this clip is so low quality, it goes a long way toward hiding whether it is an AI representation. What I will say is that there seem to be a lot of different Marvel characters represented all at once. That is getting harder to do with third party copyright claims on AI, but there are still a ton of ways around it, and people are still making incredible fan edit trailers all over social media. This could just be one of those, purposely buried behind layers of downgrading.

My test was simple. Marvel will probably take these clips down if they are real. If they were still up the following morning, I figured that pointed to them being fake.

The alleged scene shows Doctor Doom reviving Sentinels with green magic

The scene shows what is presumably Doctor Doom punching his fist into the ground, causing green magic to spread across it and raise Sentinels that are already dead or lying on the ground. There is a quick shot of Doom's mask, and then the Sentinels start to rise. Thor helps Steve Rogers up, and the camera begins to move in a circle. Steve catches Mjolnir while Thor catches Stormbreaker.

As Doom gets up from punching the ground, the Sentinels keep rising and regaining power, surrounded by green magic, their eyes lighting up green as well. Yelena Belova looks on in shock as they rise because of how big they are. Then there is another shot of Doom, followed by Shang-Chi and Nightcrawler back to back, then a close up of Steve and a close up of Doom, with the camera still circling.

The circling shot recreates the first Avengers moment with the X-Men and Fantastic Four

Next come Mystique and Cyclops, then Nightcrawler teleporting in with Mystique, and Gambit. Falcon flies in and lands with his shield. Shang-Chi lands with his Ten Rings. Mr. Fantastic slides in, stretchy style, wearing his white leather jacket. Then Thor lands, then Captain America, as the camera circles and pans out.

It basically recreates the famous circling shot from the first Avengers, but this time it is the Avengers alongside the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Cyclops then lets one of his optic blasts go and the heroes start attacking back. From that scene, it looks like the Sentinels are very overpowered compared to the rest of the Avengers and X-Men team up. That is the whole scene.

Thor lifting Steve Rogers and a bright white sky give me pause

Some things give me pause. Even in its pixelated state, there are a couple of moments where it just does not look right, especially when Thor picks Steve Rogers up off the ground. This could be an unfinished version made before the visual effects were complete, like we saw with some of the Spider-Man trailers, which would go a long way toward explaining it. And, again, it is super pixelated.

I really tried to look for inconsistencies in the characters from shot to shot, because keeping things completely constant from picture to picture or scene to scene is one thing AI cannot always nail. I was not able to tell. At 144p it is really hard to tell what a lot of this is in the first place, and some characters are barely recognisable for the time they are on screen.

One of the biggest things that made me feel maybe it is not real is the colour of the sky. The Cyclops scene in the X-Men trailer clearly looks like it takes place at night. Or, as we have been hearing, the skies may be lit up red because of the impending incursions, the way they were in Jonathan Hickman's Time Runs Out lead up to his Secret Wars run. So we would assume the sky would be somewhat dark, but here it looks bright white. Again, that could be down to an unfinished version.

If the Doomsday leak is real, it points to a much bigger problem for Marvel

If this does turn out to be a real leaked scene and it gets taken down, that implies a much bigger problem for Marvel with these leaks, and raises the question of whether the rumours are true that somebody has much more of the film. That could mean the trailer and another clip or possibly, as we were hearing with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the entire film. That said, if it only exists in this quality, they do not have anything to worry about.

The reaction was overwhelmingly positive, and I got goosebumps too

Looking at it from above, every single comment, even on this literally worst version of the scene you could possibly see, was hyped. The comments were overwhelmingly positive, and I have to be honest: as I saw it spreading across my feed, I kind of got goosebumps too. "This was the stuff that we dreamed of."

No matter how many missteps Marvel made during the Multiverse Saga, how many characters it should have revisited, like Shang-Chi, and did not, or how many specials and TV shows it botched, like Secret Invasion, which we were recently hearing may never be acknowledged again, I could not believe what we were set to get in 2026 with Spider-Man: Brand New Day and then Avengers: Doomsday.

Why I do not think this clip really leaks anything

Sony, Marvel and Disney are all acutely aware of the role leaks and rumours play in keeping these films at the forefront of conversation. While they would probably prefer some of this did not happen, even the Russos have admitted they cannot control all of the leaks. The way around that is making a compelling story, so that even if we know some elements, we still go, are entertained, and want to rewatch it.

Other than Doctor Doom controlling Sentinels, which has been in plot leaks for the better part of six months, everything in this scene we had already been told. We know who is in the movie, and we know they are all going to team up against Doom at some point. You do not need to have seen a Marvel movie to guess the heroes unite against the villain; it is a classic comic story. So I do not think this one clip intrinsically leaks much at all, and we do not even know how it plays out. With studios already spending 100 million or more to market films like this, the free clicks and conversation mean very little downside for a ton of upside.

Why I refuse to feel bad if I get fooled

A couple of AI photos slipped through last year as possible behind the scenes leaks that we still do not know are false, and some we called AI now look more than ever like they will turn out to be real. Since AI is out there, we made a conscious decision to stop covering anything that could be generated with AI, and with moving images it has become trickier than ever.

That is why I feel this heavy downgrading of quality was an obvious attempt to pass off AI, but "I refuse to feel bad if I get duped." If it is not AI, that is insane. If it is AI, someone got us, no worries, and we will laugh about the time we thought a leaked Avengers: Doomsday scene was everywhere.

So where do you land: was this a genuine leaked Doomsday scene, or an AI fake dressed up in 144p?
