Avengers: Doomsday Leaks From the Same Source Behind Earlier Footage Point to a Golden Hammer for Thor and a Deadpool Team

A Russian Telegram account tied to the earlier Doomsday leak is reportedly back with new details on Doctor Doom, Thor, Magneto, Gambit and a mystery Black Panther variant.

The Russian Telegram account that apparently leaked material from Avengers: Doomsday earlier this summer is reportedly back with a new list of details, including Thor receiving a golden hammer and new powers at the end of the film and Deadpool assembling his own team for the final battle. Some of it makes a lot of sense, so that is what I am focusing on here, with context added where we can from what we already know about the movie.

Normal spoiler warning applies. If you want to go into Doomsday not knowing, now is the time to back out.

The Russian Telegram source behind the earlier Doomsday leak appears to be back

Earlier this summer we got a massive Avengers: Doomsday leak. It started out very pixelated and then cleared up to almost HD, showing Doctor Doom raising Sentinels and the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and the Avengers all teaming up to fight him. It was later seemingly confirmed, because part of that same sequence has since been shown.

Apparently that same source, a Russian Telegram account, has now shared an extensive new list of details, perhaps based on more of the film he has seen. That part is conjecture on my end. The list has been shared all over social media and Reddit.

The usual caveat stands: "no scooper, no leak gets everything right." In the past, though, some anonymous sources have leaked some pretty huge stuff for Avengers movies, and if this comes from the same source that leaked material from Doomsday just months ago, you can see where I am going with that.

A character reportedly levitates against Magneto, which I think is obviously Doctor Doom from the footage, while Thor takes on several foes in Latveria

The first major detail describes a battle sequence similar to the fight between Agatha and Wanda at the end of WandaVision, where both are levitating high in the air. Apparently levitation will play a role in the battle, with one character doing it against Magneto. Based on what we have seen, that character is going to be Doctor Doom.

The leak goes on to say Thor will battle Doctor Doom's purple witch at the TVA, and that Thor will be in simultaneous fights against multiple characters in Latveria. As I read it, that means Doctor Strange versus Thor, Thor versus the purple witch, and Thor versus a completely different character the leak names but who we are not sure about. Perhaps it is another coloured witch.

As a side note, the characters are not said to visit Latveria until the end of the film, which is where the heavily rumoured final battle is supposed to take place. We do see Latveria and Castle Doomstadt in several places in the trailer, but when we see Doom interacting with other characters it is not there. So we can assume this is also from the final battle.

Thor reportedly gets a golden hammer and new powers at the end of the film

Staying with Thor, the leak says he is going to receive a golden hammer and new powers at the end of the film. This is super interesting to me. One character is rumoured to make a huge sacrifice at the end of the movie, and we have narrowed that down to Thor and Sentry. Honestly, it may be both. The caveat is that some of these deaths have to be permanent if they are going to have stakes. They cannot simply be undone in Avengers: Secret Wars.

The other heavy rumour for Thor is that he might lose an arm. Traditionally in the comics, and to some degree in the movies, the more Thor loses and sacrifices, the more powerful he gets. So my read on Thor has not changed with this detail. I think the moment where Doom tosses Thor aside like a rag doll comes from the end of the fight in the courtyard at the X-Mansion, the one that starts with Doom raising the Sentinels and fighting the Fantastic Four, X-Men and Avengers.

During that fight, I think Thor will lose an arm. That could lead to a brand new golden hammer, maybe because he loses Stormbreaker in the same fight, as well as a brand new arm. Losing the arm might actually level up his powers. This is along the same lines as Rune King Thor: he has to make the ultimate sacrifice to get the ultimate power set. Who knows what we will see, but I do not think Thor is going to die in this film, because I do not think that is a death that can stay permanent. He is definitely going to be part of Avengers: Secret Wars.

Gambit's sword, Namor's tsunami and a Reed Richards redemption

The next bullet point says Gambit will stab a Sentinel with his sword during the battle near the X-Men headquarters. At first I assumed it was a translation error, a staff rather than a sword. Then I thought about it more. Nightcrawler is a character who does have swords, so maybe one ends up in Gambit's hands and he charges it kinetically to help blow up a Sentinel. That is perhaps what the leak is describing, and I think we might be in for some really cool action sequences.

The leak also says Namor will create a massive tsunami. I think that might be in defence of a city, where he may flood it to defeat Doombots, Doom, or both.

Then there is Reed Richards, who will reportedly tear a Sentinel apart. That is hilarious to me, because he did not do anything against Galactus, so Reed Richards is "basically 0 and one against big purple blue robots." I am hoping there is a redemption arc for him here. I also think Marvel does not want to miss an action opportunity, since maybe he did not really get to show off his powers in Fantastic Four. Maybe I am wrong.

Magneto reportedly gets a new red suit for the finale

Magneto will apparently get a new red suit for the finale. My guess is that is for the final battle he heads into after breaking his arm, which happens when we see him in the first battle. We have seen a glimpse of that red suit in some leaked Funko Pops and maybe some other merchandise, and it has also been said his helmet may look a little different, with different ornamentation on top.

Either way, it is good to know that when we get to the final battle against Doom, Magneto will be in the mix and will not go too early. But "I guarantee you someone is dying during that sentinel scene." Maybe a couple of people. That is another reason I do not think it will be Thor: I think we will already have the deaths we need heading into the third act.

Deadpool reportedly assembles his own team, possibly with a Black Panther variant

Apparently Deadpool sets off to assemble his own team for the final battle. It is unconfirmed, but reports suggest the lineup includes Rocket, Groot, Nebula, Quill, Cosmo and a Black Panther variant. I am not sure exactly where Deadpool is going. No plot leak has mentioned him making it over to the 616 or the 828. He has basically only been rumoured for the beginning, alongside Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, fighting Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.

The most recent plot leak did say something about Deadpool showing up at the last minute in the final act with his own team, and I would not be surprised at all if most of the Guardians of the Galaxy are on it. The so called variant of Black Panther is different, because we have not had a single clue about that. We do know from the post credits scene of The Marvels that there are superheroes in the X-Men's timeline who are not part of the X-Men, like Binary. Maybe they have their own Black Panther.

The Daily Bugle building reportedly features in a city setting with Wolverine, Deadpool and Tobey

The next update says there is a city setting where the Daily Bugle building features prominently, and that this is where you will find Wolverine, Deadpool and Tobey. That basically confirms the first act rumour I mentioned above. The list ends by saying a set photo shows a destroyed street at night with ruined Daily Bugle lettering visible in the background. Again, that may be from the very first act.

Why I do not expect Marvel to show any of the final battle before December

Some of these details are brand new and pertain to the final battle. As industry insider DanielRPK recently said, even with Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, Marvel was willing to show some of the final battle and third act. Apparently we have not seen any of that for Doomsday, and there is good reason to believe Marvel Studios will not show any, especially if that is the cameo fest, or the place where they are packing all the surprises the Russos have promised. Keep in mind there may be some pocket dimension or variants of heroes we never expected to see.

I always say to temper your expectations on that front. The last time we went down that road, with Multiverse of Madness, there were rumours of a superior Iron Man variant played by Tom Cruise with Thanos's head in a jar in his lab, and there was nothing of the sort. Ultimately these details are believable and in line with everything we have heard already. The third act material, though, is something I do not expect to be able to confirm until we actually see the film in December.

So who do you think will make it, who will not, and is Thor going to level up and become the All Father in this film?
