Avengers Endgame Encore Reportedly Getting New Trailer August 25 With Seven Minutes of Added Footage

New scenes said to include a Loki visit, a funeral conversation, and a first post credit scene for Endgame, according to insider reports.

Published 7 August 2026. Words like "tonight" or "next week" refer to that date.

Avengers Endgame Encore is hitting theaters a little bit before Avengers Doomsday comes out, and from what I'm hearing there is a very specific reason for that. I always maintain that Marvel is trying to reclaim the title of the world's biggest movie back from Avatar. Endgame had that title until Avatar came out and re-released and took it back. Now Endgame is coming back out, and I think it's a big marketing push so they can say the last Avengers movie was the number one movie of all time.

Seven minutes of new footage includes a custom intro and a revised ending

From what we're hearing, Endgame Encore is going to include about seven minutes of additional content. That is said to include a custom intro sequence, new bonus scenes, and a revised ending or post credit scene. Endgame never actually got a post credit scene the first time around, so it looks like we are finally going to get one this time.

On the custom intro, I brought up the one made for Spider-Man Brand New Day, which had some very intricate details in it, with dialogue playing off Doctor Strange's spell and Peter Parker literally disappearing from pictures. I think something like that is what we can expect here, and the overall purpose is to bridge the gap between Endgame and Avengers Doomsday, leading right into it.

Trailer reportedly coming August 25, a month before the September 25 release

This is coming from the insider account No More Mutants, who say Avengers Endgame Encore spoilers point to a trailer on August 25th. That is also coming from the insider Cryptic HD quality, who I consider very reliable, and they stated recently that the trailer was scheduled for August 25th as well.

There's a big reason for that date. Endgame Encore came out September 25th, just a month later, so this is most likely when tickets go on sale a month in advance. If these reports are accurate, that's the date to watch for the trailer, which should show some new scenes, probably just one small piece of a new scene, and that should also be when tickets go on sale for Infinity Vision, the new premium format from Marvel and Disney that Avengers Doomsday is going to screen in as well.

Steve's funeral conversations with Pepper and Scott set up bigger threads

New scenes were reportedly added of Steve talking with Pepper and Scott at Tony's funeral. It makes sense for him to talk to Pepper since she was married to Tony and they had Morgan together, and Steve and Tony went through a lot together. Maybe it's just some kind words, or maybe Pepper tells him something important. We don't know, but it tracks.

The Scott conversation is interesting because it seemed like Scott was being set up to play a pretty big role heading into Avengers Kang Dynasty after he fought and defeated a variant of Kang, granted in a way not everyone liked. We've since seen him in the trailer for Avengers Doomsday as a main character, so I still think in some way they're going to tie what happened in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania into Doomsday. That could be as simple as Scott mentioning he has had some experience with the multiverse, and Doom replying that he took care of that problem, which I would genuinely love to hear him say.

Thor and Steve share a brotherly conversation as the team's new duo

The scenes reportedly include Thor and Steve having what's described as a brotherly conversation, which sets up their return in Doomsday, something the trailer already hinted at. Before it was the big three with Iron Man, and now that Tony is gone it's just Steve and Thor. We know Thor is going to be rocking Stormbreaker, and Steve is going to be using the shattered Mjolnir put back together, with some cool new ways to use it that we saw Jane use in Thor Love and Thunder, like the hammer splattering apart, hitting people, and reforming. I thought that was pretty cool in a movie that's generally considered one of the worst Marvel movies we've gotten.

Loki reveals Endgame's time travel actually created other universes

Loki reportedly appears at Peggy and Steve's house and explains that what the Avengers did in Endgame altered other universes, because they think they traveled to the past but actually traveled to other universes and created a nexus event. This is big, because it would change what we think we know about what Steve Rogers did. If true, he didn't go back in time at all. They went to other universes, and that could really cause an incursion, which explains something that didn't make sense before: if he simply went back in time, that should have created a branch timeline rather than causing incursions with other universes' own timelines.

As an example, they reportedly cite a universe where Infinity War never happened because Thanos died, Gamora disappeared from that universe, and Nebula is dead. Maybe we see that universe since they're bringing it up, or maybe it's just an example being used, but it does look like Endgame Encore is going to take us into other universes.

Steve, Peggy, and their son James end up in what looks like the Fantastic Four universe

Steve reportedly moved to a timeline very similar to Earth 616, where we saw the ending of Endgame play out, and there they have a son named James Rogers, after Bucky, who we already saw teased in the Doomsday trailer. Endgame Encore reportedly ends with Steve, Peggy, and James in a new futuristic universe, in a cabin far from the city.

We pretty much know what this is: the Fantastic Four universe. It's set back in the 1960s but looks futuristic, basically like the Jetsons, and we've already seen some of it play out in the Avengers Doomsday trailer. Loki reportedly visits them there and tells Steve he's not supposed to be there, and that his presence is causing some pretty bad stuff to happen, which fits with the idea that showing up in a different universe starts an incursion with it.

The card Loki gives Steve is reportedly the key link into Doomsday

Loki reportedly gives Steve the card we already saw him holding in the Avengers Doomsday trailer, which from what I've heard is a way to contact Loki if anything comes up. Based on what I'm hearing, that card is going to play a big role in Doomsday, because Steve will eventually use it after Loki has already met Dr. Doom, and Loki is going to tell Thor about it too, something like having seen his brother, or a version of him.

We're not really sure how much Steve is going to know about the multiverse from this, so it might be as simple as him telling Thor that Loki is alive, which is possibly what Thor is responding to in the trailer when he says it's not possible. That, or Loki shows up himself. My own read is that Steve shows up, explains he was in another universe and that Loki appeared and gave him this card to contact him, and the two of them go to use it together, which is apparently how they find out Dr. Doom is evil. That's some of what we're apparently going to see in Endgame Encore, though not all of it, with the trailer expected August 25th and the re-release itself September 25th.

Do you think this new footage is enough to get you back in theaters for Endgame Encore, or would you have gone just to see it again either way?
