Avengers Doomsday Footage Could Drop Tomorrow, Multiple Insiders Say

Three industry insiders have weighed in within hours of each other pointing to new Avengers Doomsday footage landing this week, possibly a final trailer.

Published 26 September 2026. Words like "tonight" or "next week" refer to that date.

New footage from Avengers Doomsday may be dropping as soon as tomorrow, according to several industry insiders who have all weighed in within the last two or three hours. It might be a trailer, or it might be something else entirely, but the overwhelming consensus right now is that we are getting some sort of first look or new footage for Avengers Doomsday very soon.

This is happening during Avengers Endgame Encore weekend, and my theater was absolutely packed for the 1 p.m. showing, not an open seat in the house. I already covered the post credit scenes from that release, and I think Marvel should have done a lot more with that moment, but at least we got something. The hype for Avengers Doomsday is definitely real off the back of it.

Multiple insiders point to something dropping for Avengers Doomsday tomorrow

Industry insider Daniel Richtman weighed in to confirm that starting tomorrow there will be posts related to both Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Endgame Encore, apparently continuing every day for about a week. I am assuming that is tied to the ongoing promotion for the Encore release rather than something separate.

A Twitter scooper called Cryptic HD Quality said something is coming tomorrow or over the next couple of days to coincide with the worldwide release of Avengers Endgame Encore. A separate post from another Twitter source went semi viral after being reposted heavily on Reddit. That source wrote, "Although I can't confirm it 100%, I'm being told that tomorrow there will be an Avengers Doomsday preview. Also, it looks like a surprise cast announcement not for Avengers Doomsday is coming very, very, very soon. We'll see."

Some people have taken that to mean a second Avengers Doomsday cast announcement is coming, but I do not think that is what is being implied. The source said pretty clearly that the announcement is not for Avengers Doomsday. The project casting right now that has everyone's attention is the X-Men, so I am wondering if that is what is actually being teased alongside this preview.

Based on what industry insiders have been saying for the last two weeks, my read is that Marvel has been sitting on a trailer that will drop tomorrow. It may officially get labeled as the final trailer, but as I have said many times, it will not actually be the final one. There is going to be a lot more promo for this film over the next three months.

Avengers Doomsday has reportedly been tracking as the most anticipated movie of the year

As far back as early January, industry insiders and executives had already pegged Avengers Doomsday as the number one movie of the year, ahead of Dune and ahead of Spider-Man Brand New Day. That was before anyone had anticipated that Brand New Day could go on to set the kind of records it did ahead of its own release.

The only report I have heard time and again since is that Avengers Doomsday is tracking, in my words, absolutely nuts, potentially as good as Spider-Man Brand New Day did or even better. There were recent claims of 40 to 50 million dollars in pre-sales alone.

People do go to theaters around Christmas, but there are plenty of families and casual MCU fans who have not even thought about tickets yet. They will go, and they plan to go, they just were not part of those immediate pre-sales the way the die hard fans and I were, refreshing that morning to grab our seats. Because of that gap, there is a possibility Avengers Doomsday could end up surpassing Spider-Man Brand New Day at the box office, though whether that actually happens is a question for another day.

Marvel is reportedly not cutting its marketing budget despite the strong tracking

There has been a natural assumption that if a movie is already tracking this well, Marvel could save money on marketing since tickets are already selling beyond expectations. That does not appear to be the case. Alongside those early tracking reports were separate reports on how much Marvel Studios planned to spend marketing this film, and reportedly it may end up being one of the most heavily budgeted marketing campaigns for any of their movies, with hundreds of millions of dollars reportedly involved.

Whatever happens this weekend around Avengers Endgame Encore is, in my view, just the tip of the iceberg, the initial push for what should be an all out blitz over the next 90 days leading into the theatrical release. Based on Marvel's usual pattern, expect a ton of promo cuts, extended clips of scenes already shown, a handful of official minute long clips tied to late night shows, and a wave of TV spots.

So tomorrow's drop may get called the final trailer, and Marvel will label it that way as a matter of course once you reach this stage of numbered trailers, but it will not be anywhere close to the actual final piece of promo. We are just getting started.

Doctor Strange and Mobius could be the new faces shown in the next trailer

Updates I have been tracking suggested Marvel wanted to make a splash in this trailer by showing characters that had not appeared in any official promo yet. Two names came up specifically, Mobius, who already showed up in the post credit scene released with Avengers Endgame Encore, and Doctor Strange.

The Doctor Strange angle is interesting because even though he feels like he has already been shown alongside the other witches, Marvel has not officially released any images of that grouping. What we have seen looks like female witches or variants of the mask, assumed to be cloaked versions of other witches from across the multiverse. Maybe Scarlet Witch has been folded into that group recently, maybe one of them is Clea.

I also heard someone on Screen Crush say today that they think one of them could be Famke Janssen's Phoenix, which I had honestly never stopped to consider before, but I think it is definitely in play, since Marvel may have some tricks up its sleeve with which variants it is willing to show in this film.

There have been some slight discrepancies over exactly what Marvel added during pickup shoots for Avengers Doomsday. Some initial reports named Scarlet Witch specifically, and industry insider Daniel RPK named her by name as one of the focuses of the reshoots, though more recent industry insiders have simply said it is only the witches, without specifying names.

What do you think Marvel is actually going to show us in this next drop?
