Avengers: Doomsday Leaked Photos Reportedly Confirm Two Major Opening Scenes Are Real

Insiders say newly leaked images verify the Spider-Man/X-Men incursion and a post-battle Fantastic Four scene, though some fake photos and a fake video are also circulating.

Two major scenes from Avengers: Doomsday reportedly just got confirmed as real thanks to leaked photos, and I want to walk through exactly what they show. We had heard about these scenes before, but now there is photographic evidence, and multiple insiders have chimed in to say these specific photos are legitimate, even though there are also some fake ones and a fake video going around that are not real.

This matters because these leaks appear to confirm the opening of the movie, the fate of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, and what happens right after the X-Men's battle with Doctor Doom's Sentinels, which are three of the biggest mysteries fans have been debating.

Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man Universe Appears Set to Collide With the X-Men's Earth-10005

The first set of leaks involves five photos tied to the opening scene for Avengers: Doomsday, and some have already been taken down online, which I think is actually a good sign that they are real, whether that is people worried about their accounts or Marvel itself pulling them. Two of the photos show a world about to collide into another world, which I believe is Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man universe about to crash into what I am calling the 10,005 universe, the Deadpool, Wolverine and X-Men Earth, though we will wait to see what it is officially designated.

One photo shows Ryan Reynolds in his Deadpool uniform without his mask on in what looks like a behind the scenes shot with Wolverine. Another shows Wolverine on top of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, and it looks like Maguire is wearing a mocap suit. That detail is significant because it lines up with an earlier leaked photo of Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Tobey Maguire together that a lot of people assumed was fake. Seeing Maguire in mocap here makes me think that earlier photo was real too.

I believe I have already seen part of this scene in the trailers, specifically the opening where Professor X looks out the window at another Earth glowing orange and yellow because it is being destroyed. I think that is Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man universe, and yes, I do believe that universe gets destroyed. No, I do not believe he dies, which is something I have said many times before.

Insiders Including Daniel RPK Say the Leaked Photos Are Genuine

Daniel RPK has reportedly weighed in on these specific photos, saying, "I've asked around and yes, these newly leaked photos are real." James Max also commented, saying, "I think... yes, they are real." Other insiders have echoed that these photos are legitimate as well.

There is also a leaked photo we have seen before of Magneto shooting something at the planet. From what I have heard, the X-Men have dealt with incursions before, so they know that when another Earth appears on a collision course, the only way to save their own universe is to destroy the other one. It sounds like Wolverine jumps to the other universe with some other X-Men to plant a bomb, and this is likely the scene Ian McKellen already confirmed in real life when he admitted his Magneto destroys New Jersey. Since they are destroying an entire Earth, I am assuming that means New York gets hit too, which lines up with the wrecked New York City we saw in the second trailer. The trailer made it look like Doctor Doom caused that destruction, but I actually think it is a different universe's New York, Tobey Maguire's New York, caught in the middle of this fight right before that universe is destroyed.

Why I Don't Think Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man or Wolverine Actually Die

It has also been said that Wolverine is made to look like he dies in this sequence, but I do not believe that is actually the case for either him or Spider-Man. My theory is that both are picked up by someone, maybe Loki, maybe Mobius, someone connected to the TVA, and that they end up in the void before playing major roles in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Fans Debate Whether Sony Should Have a Say in Destroying Tobey Maguire's Universe

A viewer named Stripe raised a point I saw in my Discord, arguing, "Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that everyone is just okay with Toby's universe getting destroyed? Like bro, that's the Sony Spider-Man universe. Disney doesn't own Sony, so how are we acting like Marvel can just do whatever they want with it? If they want to use Toby and his universe, Sony has to be on board. I just don't like the idea of them permanently wiping out his world for an Avengers movie." Another viewer, Cayden, responded, "It's the story. It's how Secret Wars works. Unfortunately, not everyone survives and plus it's not even confirmed. Wait for the movie." A third commenter, Marvelous time to be alive, added, "Maybe Sony was on board considering they now have a working plan for Spider-Verse, Spider-Noir, and more live-action shows. Also, Spidey movies are working really well for them in the MCU."

I agree with that last take. I think Sony has decided Spider-Man is best in Marvel's hands for live-action going forward, which could mean more Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield appearances within the MCU rather than Sony making solo films themselves. I am genuinely curious what happens to MJ and whether Maguire's Spider-Man has a daughter, Mayday, in this version, and whether the TVA saves his family too. It is possible Franklin Richards could eventually restore that universe during Secret Wars, but that is unconfirmed.

The Second Leaked Scene Confirms Magneto Survives the Sentinel Battle in a Sling

The next leaked photo is one we have partially seen before, though there is now a trend of running leaked images through AI to alter them slightly so they avoid getting flagged. This particular photo shows Magneto in a sling, and Professor X is visible in the background, meaning he does not die fighting Doctor Doom and the Sentinels, which I was genuinely worried about given how often he has died on screen before.

According to the reporting tied to this photo, after the final battle against the Sentinels and after the apparent loss of Nightcrawler and Mystique, Charles, Magneto, Gambit, Cyclops, Beast, the Avengers and the Fantastic Four are transported to Earth-828, the Fantastic Four's home universe. Doom then destroys Earth-10005, the X-Men's universe. The image reportedly corresponds to the group arriving at the Baxter Building after escaping that destruction, and it apparently shows Gambit sitting there looking at Mjolnir, seemingly trying to figure out how it works. I think at some point he tries to grab it and cannot, which could set up some funny material given how easily Captain America wields it.

Doctor Doom Reportedly Searches for Something on the X-Men's Earth Before Destroying It

It is said that Doom was searching for something specific on the X-Men's Earth. What exactly that is remains unclear, but my guess is it could be a mutant, since Doom already appears to be gathering people, possibly Doctor Strange, possibly Wanda, and it looks like he has the Darkhold. I always figured Doom had an ulterior motive for going to that universe beyond the incursion itself, since he shows up in the main universe with the Fantastic Four and specifically insists they go there. Based on this leak, it looks like he does search for something, whether or not he actually finds it, before raising the Sentinels from the dead, controlling them, fighting the X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four, and then retreating back to Latveria, likely setting up the final battle.

Could Marvel Be Leaking These Photos on Purpose?

Daniel RPK has also mentioned hearing people talk about the Spider-Man versus X-Men material from Doomsday in real life conversations, not just online, and he is guessing that, much like with Spider-Man: No Way Home, these leaks have gone mainstream, which is part of why he expects the movie to be massive. I have wondered the same thing myself, that Marvel may have noticed how leaking certain details previously helped build hype and could be doing some of this on purpose this time. I do not know for certain, but it is a question worth asking.

If Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man universe really does get destroyed in this opening sequence, how do you feel about that, and do you think Sony had to sign off on it?
