Agatha All Along Episode 5 Reaction: Alice's Death, a Crown That Looks Like Wanda's, and Our Theory About Teen's Sigil

Darkest Hour; Wake Thy Power was the shortest episode yet, and it left us on an emotional roller coaster and not sure we buy that Lilia and Jen are gone

Episode 5 of Agatha All Along, Darkest Hour; Wake Thy Power, left us genuinely upset about Alice and full of questions about Teen. At 32 minutes it was, as far as we could tell, the shortest episode by far, with the others running about 40 minutes give or take, and we wished it had been a little bit longer.

The Salem Seven and a Ouija board made this trial very exciting and kind of scary

The return of the Salem Seven was dark and eerie, and the faces did not sit well with us. One reminded us of a clown and another looked like a spider. When the coven moved on to Agatha's blood moon trial with a Ouija board, the rules about never removing your hand from the planchette felt like foreshadowing. "I think all of those rules were foreshadow."

Once Agatha appeared to be possessed, our reaction was simple: "it's Evil Dead." The torso twist and the lights coming back on felt like the show was taking little snippets from a lot of famous horror movies, the part of horror you love to hate and hate to love.

Alice's death undid all of her character growth

We really liked Alice. She got her power back, she faced the music in her trial and seemed at peace with what her mother did, and she and Teen seemed to have a little bit of a connection. She was probably the most powerful one in the group, and then that was snatched away. "I mean I'm like so mad about it actually." Agatha just could not resist taking her power.

Teen's crown and blue magic point toward Wanda

When Agatha told Teen he was so much like his mother, we wondered whether that meant Wanda. His crown really does look like a Wanda crown, although in photos the Wiccan headband looks more like a metal piece, a little like Naruto. Teen taking control of the others felt like something Wanda would do, even though his magic was blue, but every witch seems to have their own colour: Agatha is purple, Wanda is red.

Our big question was how Agatha figured it out. One theory: the book Teen carried with the sigil on it. Maybe he cast that sigil on himself so nobody could tell who he was, and once he lost the book, Agatha could see past it. It is an interesting theory, maybe.

We are not ready to believe Lilia and Jen are dead

Both fell into the ooze, and Lilia has not had her trial yet, so we do not think the show could just get rid of her now. She has been the clairvoyant of the coven, dropping hints since her beach house vision, which never got explored, and we never fully got Jen's backstory either. Rio, meanwhile, hung back to see what would happen. When this was written, the next episode was said to be the longest by far, and we expected big reveals.

How do you think Agatha figured out who Teen really was?
