Star Wars Battlefront 3 Reportedly in Development at EA, With DICE and Respawn Likely Involved

Star Wars Battlefront 3 is happening. According to Variety, the game is in active development at EA, and a new report from Bloomberg points to two huge studios teaming up to make it.

So multiple sources confirm that Star Wars Battlefront 3 is actively in development at EA. This comes days after the rumor that Lucasfilm was shopping around game studios, with even Bungie mentioned. But it sounds like EA is keeping it in house.

Bloomberg says DICE and Respawn will collaborate on what's likely Battlefront 3

According to Bloomberg, EA said that Respawn and DICE will collaborate on a new project, which will likely be another Battlefront game: Battlefront 3.

In my opinion, that's the dream team. DICE made the last two Battlefronts, and the second one was solid. It's still good. Respawn made Titanfall, Apex and all of the Star Wars Jedi games.

This also lines up with what other industry people are saying. Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer posted: "DICE, and from what I've heard, Respawn are working on Battlefront 3."

The Battlefront 3 news arrives during EA's restructuring

The news does come at a rough time, though. EA is going through its first major restructuring since going private. BioWare has been shut down, with layoffs expected to hit around 400 staff, about 3% of the company.

Even so, this is a huge turnaround. Back in 2021, reports said EA turned down DICE's Battlefront 3 pitch, but now it's moving forward.

Realistically, though, I'm expecting this to still be a 2028 or later project. Now the question is: do you think the curse of Battlefront 3 will ever end, or do you want Respawn and EA to work on a different FPS focused Star Wars game?
