Absolute DC Universe Panel at New York Comic Con Left Me Feeling Inspired

Day two of New York Comic Con brought the Absolute DC Universe panel, a Harvey Award for Frank Miller, and a packed evening schedule

It's day two of New York Comic Con, and I just got out of the Absolute DC Universe panel. One word comes to mind for me, and that's inspired. The whole thing is so exciting.

Before I went in, I had my fingers crossed that they were going to talk about the animation, because for me that would frankly be the most exciting thing. But no matter what they were going to talk about, I was there for it. I'll be following up with a full breakdown of what everything they talked about actually means.

The Absolute Universe is probably the most redefining event DC has done

So what is the Absolute Universe in DC Comics? Right now, it's probably the single most redefining event that has happened. It started out as a part of a previous event and was so well received that the fandom actually turned it into an actual thing. Now they're moving forward with a lot of things, and we know they're building up to something very special.

I think it's likely going to be some form of crisis event, because DC owns all of the crisis events. I'm thrilled, especially at the opportunity to see "just the most devastating characters we've ever seen reinvented in an amazing way."

Frank Miller is set to be honored at the Harvey Awards

Later today come the Harvey Awards, which recognize some of the most notable artists in comic books today. One of the awards is going to a classic, and that's going to be Frank Miller. That man deserves all those flowers all the time for everything, having redefined Batman as it stands.

Violent Night 2 and BlumFest are next on my list

After that, I'm hoping to get an opportunity to go to the Violent Night 2 panel, followed by BlumFest. That'll be really cool to see. I'm not normally in that space, but I think I'm down for a few chills tonight. We'll see.

The scale of New York Comic Con feels unreal

It's crazy to see all of this. It's just so unreal, and the cultural impact of this stuff is hard to overstate. There's even a little empanada stand with all the flavors in the world. It's unreal, the stuff they've got. Only in New York.

Seeing everybody here and getting introduced to so many fun people is making me want to do more stuff, or at the very least change how I do things. I can't wait to talk more about it.

What would you most like to see from the Absolute DC Universe next?
