Inside the Doctor Doom Trophy Room at New York Comic Con and What It Could Mean for Doomsday

Cyclops's visor, a symbiote sample, Thor's shattered hammer and the Ultimate Nullifier sit in a licensed Latverian display that may or may not connect to Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars

Doctor Doom is collecting Bruce Banner for Avengers: Doomsday, but does he mean as a trophy? A Doctor Doom trophy room on display at New York Comic Con is packed with relics of Marvel heroes and villains, and while none of it is confirmed for the film, a lot of it lines up with what we've been theorizing about for Doomsday.

The display also reminds me of a past Fortnite collaboration that was even freakier, and I'll get to that further down in this piece.

A licensed Latverian booth with Marvel sign off, but nothing is confirmed for Doomsday

The trophy room is part of the Heroes and Villains booth, which has a Latverian village theme. The sword and bone logo you see there is that company's logo. Heroes and Villains is an official license holder for Marvel IP, and its products and expo displays do require official sign off by Marvel. Disney and Marvel Studios likely did see this booth experience as part of their overall Avengers: Doomsday marketing.

But does that mean everything in this trophy room will be in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars? We have no idea. Take it all with a grain of salt. Either way, these Easter eggs were very cool, and they align with what we have been theorizing. The whole setup also recalls that Fortnite collaboration, which was itself done in a sort of partnership between Fortnite and AGBO, the Russo brothers' production company. So I think it's worth breaking down just in case any of it is relevant for Doomsday.

The Latverian flag and Doom's time platform set the scene

As you walk in, there's a Latverian flag that I suspect is the post revolution version, after Doctor Doom overthrows the country's previous ruler. That's why I think the flag looked different in The Fantastic Four: First Steps when there was that empty seat at the Future Foundation. My theory is that the delegation was absent because there was civil unrest back home, and the country's heraldry is going to change over with Victor von Doom as the new ruler.

It's easy to miss when you first walk in, but the blue glowing square you're standing on is Doctor Doom's time platform. It's how Doom travels through time and space to stay ahead of his enemies, and it's what the VFX designers working on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness based the Earth 838 Reed Richards' teleportation platform on.

The Ultimate Nullifier could be what Doom is holding

The first item on display is the Ultimate Nullifier, in its comic accurate form. It's a critical piece of technology that goes all the way back to the Fantastic Four Galactus arc from 1966. Johnny Storm, sent by Uatu the Watcher, recovers the device and brings it back to Earth so that Reed Richards can threaten Galactus with it into leaving Earth alone. In a more recent comic run from 2022, we find out that the device was made by a Watcher.

The device can be used for the complete erasure of any being, any timeline, any universe, rewriting things so that they never existed. Unlike the TVA's pruning rod in Loki, which extracts people and things from their timelines and banishes them to the Void, the Ultimate Nullifier just completely eradicates something from any existence. "It basically unmakes it."

A number of theories have speculated that Doctor Doom might possess a form of the Ultimate Nullifier in Avengers: Doomsday, and that it could even be the object the Iron Studios Doctor Doom figurine is holding, even though it looks completely different. I would say that object more so matches the swirly pale blue glow of the time platform, but that's just me.

The Tesseract may be a paperweight, but Cyclops's visor suggests Doom killed or collected a Cyclops

Item number two is also blue and glowy: the Tesseract, aka the Space Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones, in its Cosmic Cube inspired casing. In the first episode of Loki, Infinity Stones like these were treated as paperweights. Similarly, this one might just be a relic rather than something that still has any power.

Next comes Cyclops's visor. With the green lighting, it's hard to see exactly how similar it is to the visor James Marsden's Cyclops will wear in Avengers: Doomsday, but it would tell us that some version of Doom killed or collected a version of Cyclops.

A broken Silver Surfer board, and a symbiote sample that could point to Spider-Man

Next is the Silver Surfer's surfboard. It's broken, and we're looking at the back half of it. The board is cracked in places and has five lines running down it, which were rarely seen on Norrin Radd's board in the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, or on Shalla-Bal's board in the 2025 film The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

After that is a container holding a sample of a symbiote, roughly the same amount that was left on the bar top in the post credit scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home. That sample was tied to the Venom universe of Earth 688, but its variant was left behind on Earth 616. We don't know where it is; it's still somewhere in the MCU. If Doctor Doom has access to this symbiote, it could be how we get Tom Holland's Peter Parker in his iconic black suit in Battleworld and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Pieces of Thor, Ultron and Thanos fill out the shelves

Next is a broken Uru fragment of Mjolnir, telling us that Doom killed a version of Thor and shattered his iconic hammer just like Hela did in Thor: Ragnarok.

Then there's an Ultron head. Perhaps it's just an Ultron sentry, but I'm choosing to believe this is Ultron. The eyes are still glowing red, telling us that Ultron's consciousness was still in this head when it was ripped off.

After that is Thanos's battle helmet, the one he took off at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War. In Avengers: Endgame, his 2014 variant showed up wearing it when he realized what the Avengers were doing during the time heist, then traveled to the present day to fight them and try to do the very thing Doctor Doom seems to be finishing the job on in Doomsday.

Three Doom masks and a darker Fortnite collection

Beneath these trophies are three Doctor Doom masks. I compared them to the masks worn by Joseph Culp in 1994's Fantastic Four, Julian McMahon in the 2005 and 2007 films, and Toby Kebbell in the 2015 film. They're not exactly the same, but the one with three grille lines looks like the Latverian henchman mask from Fortnite.

In fact, this whole room might remind you a lot of Doctor Doom's collection in Fortnite from that 2024 collaboration, which was even freakier. There, Doom used Human Torch Johnny Storm's heart to warm the fireplace, though it was actually a two dimensional depiction with Jack Kirby hatchline heat marks. Reed Richards was stretched and knotted into a rubber ball that twitches in pain, showing how Victor hated Reed so much that he kept him in that form forever. Susan Storm got off easiest: she was kept on display invisibly on a throne of her own, but still trapped in a case.

Poor Ben Grimm was transformed into an orange rock throne, with his shorts and belt turned into a kind of seat cushion. In the original comics continuity, it was Ben tampering with Victor von Doom's device when they were all in college together that led to it malfunctioning and scarring Victor's face. So Victor would hate Ben the second most, and he turned him into a throne so he can sit on him whenever he wants.

The Fortnite room also displayed Magneto's broken helmet, part of the Silver Surfer's board that looks exactly like the one at New York Comic Con, and an Ultron head with wires poking out alongside Thanos's broken helmet, which also seem to have been replicated at the booth. Then there was a broken Eye of Agamotto necklace ripped off a dead Doctor Strange, one of Moon Knight's crescent darts, the head of Galactus sticking out of the water, and Namor's seashell horn that he uses to summon a giant whale with nuke resistant feet.

Hickman's Secret Wars shows why "I've come to collect you" makes me nervous

Doctor Doom does similar things to Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm in Jonathan Hickman's Secret Wars. It's not a trophy room, but he turns Johnny Storm into the fiery sun of that world and Ben Grimm into what I like to call the Great Wall of Grimm. God Emperor Doom is less petty. He's more practical, yet still quite theatrical.

So collecting trophies of famous Marvel heroes and villains he has killed, and sometimes using his magic to turn them into relics of his collection, is part of what Doom does. That's why many of us are so nervous about what he means when he tells Bruce Banner, "I've come to collect you."

I think Avengers: Doomsday, and certainly Avengers: Secret Wars, will show us some of this. I think Doom will have killed and collected trophies from past Avengers villains: Loki, Ultron and Thanos. Maybe he'll use the head of Galactus from his 828 universe to adorn his oceanfront view, to prove he could have defeated Galactus, unlike the Fantastic Four of his world. But how petty will Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom truly be? How practical? How filled with vengeance? That will tell us how creative he is as he begins to assemble his Battleworld.

Which trophy from Doom's collection would you most like to see turn up in Avengers: Doomsday?
