Marvel Animation Panel at NYCC Offers Looks at X-Men '97 and Spider-Man Season 3; New Series Zodiac Is Coming

Fresh out of the Marvel panel on day one of New York Comic Con's 20th anniversary show, here's what was shown and how the convention floor felt.

I just got out of the big Marvel panel at New York Comic Con, where Marvel was talking about all of its stuff, and we got to look at some X-Men '97 and at Spider-Man season 3. For anyone keeping track at home, that's the animation side of things.

I'll go into much more depth on what was discussed in my fuller coverage, which should land later tonight or, more likely, tomorrow. For now, here are my first impressions from the floor.

Marvel's new espionage series Zodiac has me hopeful, with a Secret Invasion caveat

Alongside the X-Men '97 and Spider-Man looks, there's also going to be a special new series with an espionage feel called Zodiac. I'm hopeful for it, but the last series like that Marvel did was Secret Invasion, so we'll see what happens.

Either way, I'm excited to see it. The panel was amazing to be in the room for, and I'm still a little starstruck.

Day one at New York Comic Con's 20th anniversary was wild

It's the end of day one at New York Comic Con, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and this has been an amazing show. It is so wild here, and there are so many people. I love it.

The cosplay has been amazing. I guess the question is how many times you can see a strangely sexy variant of every character. And that's not just female characters but male characters too, because there have been a couple of Punishers that made me kind of blush. That's all I'm saying.

One thing I love: the venue's actual industrial structures have become a backdrop. People just popped up and decided, "We're going to take pictures. We're going to do it here." It's as cool as can be.

There's also a row of food trucks down the way, and I grabbed some chicken from one of them while waiting in line. There's been so much cool stuff, and I'll be posting pictures and some clips.

More Marvel animation details are hopefully coming tonight or first thing tomorrow

I'm going to go deeper into everything that happened on the Marvel animation panel in some of my first coverage, hopefully tonight or first thing tomorrow. But tomorrow is day two, so I've got to get some rest.

Which of the projects from the Marvel animation panel, X-Men '97, Spider-Man season 3 or Zodiac, are you most curious about?
