WandaVision Episode 6 Reaction: A Brilliant Halloween Cliffhanger That Still Felt Too Short

Billy's powers, Hayward's plan for Vision and an expanding Hex made the Halloween episode a thrill, but I came away wanting much more

WandaVision's Halloween episode was phenomenal, with a great cliffhanger ending, but it was also too short. At 37 minutes it ran a little longer than some earlier episodes, and I still felt that it just was not enough.

Before it aired, a script for the episode had reportedly leaked online. I did not know if it was legit, although some people believed it was. Going in, I mainly hoped we would find out what was going on with Pietro.

Billy finally got his comics accurate powers

The episode was a lot of fun from the start. "Elizabeth Olsen is a really good comedian," and I loved the brother and sister energy between Wanda and Pietro. I was especially happy to see Billy get his powers. He had not used them much yet, but they were comics accurate, and I wondered if Billy might turn out to be the key to everything.

Pietro calling the kids demon spawn was a fantastic moment, because that line was really important in the comics. He also seemed to know far too much. Maybe he was trying to push Wanda toward some kind of realization, or even level up her powers. Pietro was never cruel, and Wanda clearly knew this was not really him, or she would not have attacked him.

Hayward wanted Vision's body back

The screen reading reacquiring asset confirmed what I had suspected: Hayward wanted Vision's body, and he was the real thief. He was a villain, just not in the way I had expected. Meanwhile Vision had clearly broken out of Westview mentally, although I could not understand how he did not remember the Avengers. Watching him start to come apart at the border was hard, and I did not want to see him die a third time.

That ending

When Wanda expanded the Hex to save Vision, Darcy was swept inside and Hayward got away. I was so glad Vision did not die, though I wondered if he would remember anything. The show was very good at ending on cliffhangers, and with no end credit sequence, I could not believe that was where they stopped.

I really wanted to see what Darcy looked like on the other side. I also could not believe Hayward escaped, and I was left asking where Dottie was. With only three episodes left at that point, I thought at least one of the remaining episodes was supposed to be an hour long.

Did the Halloween episode feel complete to you, or did it leave you wanting more, like it did for me?
