Godzilla Ultima vs Void Ghidorah: Who Wins When Two Higher Dimensional Monsters Collide?

Void Ghidorah can ignore our laws of physics, but Godzilla Ultima isn't trapped inside our universe either, and one weakness decides the fight.

Godzilla Ultima versus Void Ghidorah. Who wins? My answer is Godzilla, once again, and it comes down to one weakness Ghidorah has that Ultima doesn't share.

At first glance, this looks like another classic Godzilla versus King Ghidorah fight. That's not really what this is, because Void Ghidorah is just built different.

Void Ghidorah Isn't Even Completely Inside Our Universe

The Ghidorah we see here isn't even completely inside our universe. His actual existence comes from another dimension, and those enormous golden heads enter our reality through black holes. Because of that, Ghidorah doesn't even have to follow our laws of physics, which is exactly why Godzilla Earth couldn't do anything to hurt him.

Godzilla fires his atomic breath, and it passes straight through Ghidorah. He tries attacking him, and that doesn't work either. Ghidorah can grab Godzilla, bite him, and start draining his energy while Godzilla can't even touch him back. That sounds like a huge problem for Godzilla Ultima, until you realize that Ultima is built the same way.

Godzilla Ultima Is Connected to a Singular Point Beyond Our Spacetime

The giant red Godzilla we see walking through Tokyo is not the full extent of what we're dealing with. The novel goes a lot deeper into this, explaining that Godzilla is connected to a singular point existing beyond the normal structure of our spacetime, with the physical Godzilla essentially acting as its foothold inside our universe.

That's why the catastrophe was such a big deal. Godzilla wasn't just going to destroy Tokyo. His mere existence was causing reality itself to break down.

All of that means Void Ghidorah's biggest advantage against Godzilla Earth isn't useful here. He normally wins by existing outside the universe while attacking something trapped inside it. Ultima isn't trapped inside the universe. Instead, you've basically got two higher dimensional entities sticking pieces of themselves into our universe and trying to kill each other's avatar.

Void Ghidorah Needs an Observer, and That Weakness Gives Godzilla Ultima the Win

Void Ghidorah has one really exploitable problem: he needs an observer. The entire reason he can attack Godzilla Earth without being attacked himself is that his observer is essentially anchoring and guiding him from inside our reality. The second that connection breaks, Ghidorah becomes subject to our physics. Godzilla can finally touch him, and the fight ends almost immediately.

Ultima's connection to our reality is way harder to deal with. Humanity needed a supercomputer calculating through time, Jet Jaguar, the orthogonal diagonalizer, and basically a miracle to win.

So it's one universal being versus another, and because of that weakness, Godzilla wins once again.

Who do you think would come out on top in a fight between Godzilla Ultima and Void Ghidorah?
