Dragon Ball Super's Beerus Arc Reportedly Launches This October, But Its Title May Cause Confusion

New V-Jump scans and toy leaks point to a fall debut for the enhanced Battle of Gods redo, though a translated report suggests the early Super arcs could all share one name.

New V-Jump scans are out covering Dragon Ball Super Beerus, and they come with an update on both the upcoming project and the Resurrection F portion that follows it. This is not really a straight remake, more of an enhanced version of the Dragon Ball Super Battle of Gods arc, and there is enough new detail here that I want to walk through all of it.

Toy leaks and V-Jump scans point to an October debut for Dragon Ball Super Beerus

Dragon Ball Super Beerus is coming this October, and that timing has now been semi-confirmed by other sources because there are toy leaks pointing to new figures of Dragon Ball Super characters arriving around that same window in 2026. I am about 99 percent sure that I was the first to report that Beerus was targeting an October debut, and we now seem to have outside confirmation lining up with that.

I do not have an exact date within the month, but the middle of October looks like the likely starting point based on what is circulating. As for length, the run will be six episodes before the story moves into Resurrection F.

The Beerus episodes are reportedly using cleaned up Super footage rather than the original movie

The animation being used for this redo is coming from Dragon Ball Super rather than the Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods movie. Most of what has shown up in the promotional material so far is clearly built on the Super version, but it is being cleaned up considerably. One example is the Goku versus Beerus fight on Kai's planet where Goku goes Super Saiyan 3, which in the original Dragon Ball Super episode 5 was, in my words, a colossal mess. That fight is being redone so it does not look anything like it did originally.

I also want to address something I get asked constantly, which is whether Goku will show up in Super Saiyan 4 in this version to tie Super in with Daima. I genuinely do not know the answer to that. I see the question at least once a video and I simply do not have information on it either way. What I can say is that the Beerus portion of the project is essentially locked, and the team has moved on to work on Resurrection F.

A translated report suggests the whole early Super saga could be titled Dragon Ball Super Beerus

According to a translation from Venixis, there is talk that even though the plan is to re-adapt the first three arcs of Dragon Ball Super, meaning Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, and the Universe 6 versus Universe 7 tournament with Champa, the entire stretch might just be titled Dragon Ball Super Beerus. That is speculation tied to a teaser image of Frieza. Most of what is in this V-Jump spread is information we already saw at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event a couple of weeks earlier, but the text accompanying the Frieza teaser reads, "In the latest footage, unbelievably, that character already appears," followed by the question, "How exactly will they become involved in the story of Dragon Ball Super Beerus?"

That leaves two possibilities. Either the whole project is simply being labeled Dragon Ball Super Beerus for now until Frieza's arrival, at which point it gets renamed to something like Dragon Ball Super Golden Frieza or Dragon Ball Super Resurrection F, or the entire saga keeps the Beerus title throughout. Venixis seems to lean toward the latter, but I am not sold on it.

Why I doubt Resurrection F and the Champa arc will keep the Beerus name

Beerus is unquestionably central to Battle of Gods. He has been the antagonist and rival of that story since Toriyama and Yusuke Watanabe wrote the script back in 2013, and there is no argument there. But in Resurrection F, whether you mean the movie or the Super anime version, Beerus is barely involved. Goku and Vegeta spend that stretch training with Whis, Beerus is asleep for a lot of it, he shows up to watch part of the fight with Frieza, and it is Whis who ultimately turns back time. Beerus is a background player in that story, which is why calling that portion Dragon Ball Super Beerus feels strange to me.

The fact that Dragon Ball Super the Galactic Patrol is still coming as its own separate title tells me each arc is likely getting its own subtitle, something a number of us have been saying for months. There is a chance the entire first half of Super, covering Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, and Universe 6, ends up carrying the Beerus name the whole way through, but I do not believe that is what will happen.

Where Beerus does matter again is the Universe 6 tournament. He does not fight Goku or anyone else there, but he is representing Universe 7 against his brother Champa, and if Beerus had not been awakened in Universe 7, Champa would have had no reason to travel there and confront him, which is what kicks off the tournament in the first place. So Beerus is a real part of both the Battle of Gods and Universe 6 stories, just not much of one in the Frieza story.

My own guess for how a Frieza tease could be worked into the Beerus arc

I want to be clear that what follows is my own speculation, not a leak or reported news. My guess is that right after the Goku and Beerus fight in the new enhanced Beerus version, there could be a mid-credit or post-credit style teaser showing Frieza inside the resurrection vat, or showing Sorbet and Tagoma arriving on or flying toward Earth.

That would line up with the timeline, since Resurrection F takes place some months after Battle of Gods, given that Goku and Vegeta are already training with Whis and have worked out Super Saiyan Blue before they face Frieza. Because of that gap, it still does not make full sense to me for the whole project to be called Dragon Ball Super Beerus from start to finish, but based on this V-Jump report, it very well might end up that way.

Do you think the whole early stretch of this Dragon Ball Super redo should share the Beerus name, or should Resurrection F and the Champa arc get their own titles?
