Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars: which universes collide?

From Fox's X-Men and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man to Tom Hardy's Venom and Captain Carter, these are the realities I expected Marvel Studios to pull from

Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars: which universes collide?

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars were set to bring characters from many different Marvel universes together, and at the time I thought it was going to be a lot of them. Marvel Studios had revealed that the original Fox X-Men would appear in Avengers: Doomsday, and Channing Tatum said the movie was supposedly going to blow our minds.

I'm not talking about incursions here, although those were expected to play a huge role in Doomsday and Secret Wars. I mean seeing characters from many universes interact with the heroes of our own, Earth 616. We got glimpses of this in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the scene after the credits of The Marvels, Deadpool & Wolverine and Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it was pretty epic. Beyond that, I think the Multiverse Saga should have dove into it more. But we are where we are, and that was what Marvel Studios was about to do.

Marvel confirmed Earth 828's Fantastic Four would meet the heroes of Earth 616, and Fox's X-Men probably come from Earth 10005

Our main sacred timeline universe is Earth 616. Then there is Earth 828, the universe the Fantastic Four are from. We already knew Marvel had confirmed that they would come into contact with the heroes of the 616 universe.

Next is Earth 10005, the universe Deadpool comes from and the one Wolverine is now in. We assume the other X-Men Marvel confirmed for the movie are coming from that universe as well. Deadpool & Wolverine talked plenty about how Logan was from Deadpool's universe, so the events of the X-Men films are probably in Earth 10005.

It's possible the X-Men come from a different universe than Deadpool does, but they probably come from that one. It's also probably the same universe seen in the scene after the credits of The Marvels. Since Kelsey Grammer is playing Beast again, much like he did before, it all probably points back to Earth 10005.

Earth 838's empty Illuminati chair could belong to Doctor Doom

Then there is Earth 838. Not to be confused with Earth 828, where the Fantastic Four are from, this is the universe from Multiverse of Madness where the Illuminati are. There was an empty Illuminati chair there, and still we don't know who that extra seat was for. Some people say it was for Doctor Strange, but Mordo took his place, so he would take his chair.

We heard before that Marvel's plan was eventually to bring this around and have Earth 838 interact with Earth 616. If that is the case, we might finally figure out who that seat belonged to.

I had a theory once upon a time that it belonged to Doctor Doom, who could be a variant of Tony Stark in that universe. Instead of Ultron bots, they could be turned into Doombots. Marvel would have to retcon it a little, since the subtitles for the movie did say Ultron bots. But maybe this Tony Stark variant, Victor, turns into an evil version of Iron Man or Doctor Doom after the Scarlet Witch annihilated the Illuminati and probably caused an incursion. That's just a theory. We'll have to wait and see.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man universes look like a given

The next two universes are Earth 96283, which is Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man's universe, and Earth 120703, which is where Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man comes from. Since they were both in Spider-Man: No Way Home, them showing up in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars is pretty much a given.

I want to see Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and hopefully a Robert Downey Jr. Tony Stark Iron Man variant. It obviously won't be the same Tony from our universe, because he died. But Robert Downey Jr. is returning, and I would be shocked if we didn't see him also play an Iron Man variant. I want those big three there: Tobey Maguire, Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey Jr.

Earth 121698 could put two Chris Evans characters on screen

Earth 121698 is the universe the original Fantastic Four come from, the one with Jessica Alba and Chris Evans. Chris Evans already came back as the Human Torch in Deadpool & Wolverine.

He's also coming back in Avengers: Doomsday, and as I understand it, that Steve Rogers is the same Steve Rogers we've been with throughout the entire MCU. Not a variant, but the same one. That means we have the possibility of two Chris Evans characters on screen: Steve Rogers and Johnny Storm, the Human Torch. "If there were ever a time to do it, it would be during these huge multiversal events."

Tom Hardy's Venom and Earth 688 may be heading toward the MCU

I hope we cross over with Earth 688, because that is where Tom Hardy's Venom is from. That universe has already crossed over through the scene after the credits of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and the one after Spider-Man: No Way Home. A piece of that symbiote is in the MCU's 616 universe.

We also heard a report from a reliable insider, Alex Perez, who said the symbiote is from another universe, that it's in ours, and that it is pulling that universe towards us. That would mean Earth 688 is heading towards us.

I want to see Tom Hardy's Venom with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. I don't think that comes in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. I think we get it in Secret Wars, or at least I hope we do.

Fant4stic, Ghost Rider, Blade and Daredevil could get their moment

There's a possibility we could see Earth 15866, the Fant4stic universe. Most of us try not to acknowledge that movie, but the actors were treated poorly by the script, and most of them have shown they can act outside of it. So perhaps, to give them some redemption, like Deadpool & Wolverine did with characters like Elektra, Marvel could bring them into the MCU, give them a moment and let them move on in peace.

After all, we've heard that is what Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is doing with the X-Men. They didn't get to be part of the MCU because they came before it, and they didn't really get an ending. Now they will get both.

I think many people would like to see Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider. I'm not sure of the number for that universe, or whether it has one, but I think people would enjoy seeing him return as Ghost Rider and enter the MCU.

We've already felt the essence of Earth 26320, because that's where Wesley Snipes's Blade is from. Ryan Reynolds is part of that universe too, in Blade: Trinity, and so is Jessica Biel. Wesley Snipes has already returned, so it would make sense to see him again, since he was saved, at least as far as we know. Since Gambit and X23 were saved, we can assume Elektra and Blade were too, which would mean we could see Earth 701306, where Ben Affleck's Daredevil and Elektra are from. I wouldn't be surprised if Ben Affleck came back as Daredevil, even if just for a quick cameo.

Into the Spider-Verse and Captain Carter universes could join the multiverse

The next universes are trickier: Earth 1610, Earth 42 and Earth 65, all from the Spider-Verse movies. Earth 1610 is where Miles Morales is from. Earth 65 is where Spider-Gwen is from. Earth 42 is where Miles Morales as the Prowler is from, as we saw at the end of Across the Spider-Verse.

Sony and Marvel have been playing nicely with each other, and the success of Into the Spider-Verse probably means the studios want to build on it by having those characters cross over into the MCU. We've also heard reports that some animated characters are going to appear in animated form in the MCU, which would be interesting to see. The multiverse does include those types of universes, so maybe we get them animated, maybe in live action. Either way, I hope these characters appear.

The same goes for Earth 8211, the universe from the animated series What If, where Peggy Carter becomes Captain Carter. At the end of What If season 3, she ascended into a multiversal Captain Carter, so there's definitely precedent for her to show up.

It's also been said that Hayley Atwell is returning, just as Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers, and that they're supposed to be in scenes together. Doom and Loki are said to go back to the time when Steve stayed with Peggy at the end of Avengers: Endgame, and both talk to him separately. So it looks like Peggy Carter will be in it. Will she be Captain Carter? We'll have to wait and see.

Eric Bana's Hulk and why I think anything is possible

There's also Earth 40083, home of Eric Bana's Hulk. I wouldn't be that surprised if he showed up. I'd be more surprised if Edward Norton showed up, since technically his Hulk is the same as Mark Ruffalo's, but he could come from a universe where he continued to play the Hulk in the MCU.

Anything is possible, and I think any character who has been portrayed on film or any screen could appear in the MCU. That means the old Punishers, the old Fantastic Four movie that got made but never saw the light of day, and the PlayStation Spider-Man and Miles Morales. On top of that, there are going to be variants of many characters played by some big actors, I'm sure. But the universes covered here are the main ones I think Marvel will pull from. At least I certainly hope so.
