Spider-Man Brand New Day Post-Credit Scene Reportedly Sends Peter Off Planet, Setting Up Avengers Doomsday
New reports on the post-credit tease, a suspended leaker's Ned Leeds detail, and fresh Sadie Sink footage suggest Tom Holland's Spider-Man is heading straight into Doomsday.
The Spider-Man Brand New Day post-credit scene reportedly is not what fans expected, and from what I am hearing it actually points toward Tom Holland's Spider-Man showing up in Avengers Doomsday.
This matters because if true, it would confirm Holland's Peter Parker has a role to play in the Doomsday saga before Secret Wars, something fans have been debating for months.
Daniel RPK and Cryptic HD Quality report a single space-focused post-credit scene
According to Daniel RPK and Cryptic HD Quality, two insiders I consider pretty reliable at this point, Spider-Man Brand New Day is only going to have one post-credit scene, and it reportedly deals with space. Both say it is going to set up Avengers Doomsday, which makes sense to me, and I would not even be surprised if it was shot by the Russo brothers.
A suspended account claimed Ned uses the spider tracker to learn Spider-Man left the planet
An account posted something very specific about the scene, claiming Ned uses the spider tracker in the post-credit scene and gets a notification that Spider-Man is no longer on the planet. That is interesting to me because I am pretty sure the spider tracker works through people seeing him and reporting his location rather than any physical tracking device, so that notification would mean somebody literally saw him leave the planet. I also think this lines up with the incursion starting to happen on Earth-616, our main universe. Notably, that account has since been suspended from X after being copyrighted a few times and flagged, probably by Sony, which suggests to me it may have been posting real information that was not supposed to be out there. At least that is what it would seem like.
My theory: Spider-Man could end up in the Quantum Realm during Avengers Doomsday's finale
If Spider-Man goes off planet during the incursion, I think that points to this happening toward the end of Avengers Doomsday, meaning he could end up on a life raft, in the quantum realm, or in the void, possibly after someone gets to him and takes him away, or after he tries to team up with the Avengers during the final battle before getting away. My guess is that when the Avengers head to the Fantastic Four's universe, Earth-828, to fight Doctor Doom in Latveria, the Young Avengers might stay behind. I think Scott Lang could tell his daughter Cassie that if they cannot defeat Doom and stop the multiverse from collapsing, she should take the Young Avengers and anyone else who can still fight into the quantum realm. Spider-Man could be one of those people if he stays on Earth-616, and it makes sense that Kamala Khan would know him given how big an Avengers fan she is, with New York being where everything with the Avengers goes down anyway. To be clear, none of this is confirmed, but that is how I think it might play out, and it would give Spider-Man a role in Avengers Doomsday.
James Mack's stunt double report adds weight to Tom Holland's Doomsday involvement
A separate report from James Mack, whose leaks have reportedly been proven true before thanks to footage that has surfaced, states that a Spider-Man stunt double spotted during Avengers Doomsday reshoots points toward Tom Holland's Spider-Man. It is not clear how much screen time this means, it could be limited to the ending, but I would really like to see his Spider-Man show up alongside Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, who we already know appears at the start of the movie. The more Spider-Man the merrier, in my opinion. Regardless of Doomsday, I think Holland is going to have a major role in Avengers Secret Wars, especially if his character ends up in the quantum realm or the void, since that would keep him off Battleworld and free from Doctor Doom's mind control.
New footage reportedly shows Sadie Sink fully covered, saving the Jean Grey reveal for later
Reportedly, ninety percent of the Brand New Day trailers only show events from the film's first two acts, where Jean Grey is portrayed as the villain, while Peter and Jean's relationship reportedly changes significantly in the final act, which I am fully on board with. Two new spots show Sadie Sink's character completely covered head to toe, with only her eyes and part of her forehead visible, which I think is intentional so audiences do not immediately clock the psychic powers or the fire red hair and identify her as Jean Grey before the reveal. I do believe the footage itself is real, though in some clips the voice trying to sound like Sadie Sink sounds like an AI voiceover added on top of real footage. The clips mostly confirm she will be in the space with Spider-Man's equipment, which we had already seen, but it does make me more excited, and my read is that the big twist is simply that she is being hunted for having superpowers as a mutant. I am about 99.99999 percent sure she is Jean Grey, though some people online are still guessing Rachel or Hope. I really do not think it is either of those.
Plot detail bullet points reportedly confirm a Punisher and Hulk three-way fight with Spider-Man
Based on footage and insider reports, several plot details are circulating. More heroes beyond Punisher and Hulk are said to appear, possibly Daredevil, though this could just be referring to Yelena Belova, who is already confirmed. The film reportedly opens with criminals attempting to break Scorpion out during transport, matching leaked footage already seen, while Punisher and his partner track the criminals as Spider-Man tries to stop both the breakout and Punisher from killing them. Sadie Sink's character is rumored to have pink psychic abilities and wear green and yellow, and Damage Control is reportedly hunting her because of how dangerous her powers are, with Spider-Man set to rescue her after she is captured. Punisher reportedly gets major upgrades to deal with both Hulk and Spider-Man, which excites me since earlier reports suggested a one-versus-one-versus-one fight between all three characters. The ending is still rumored to be tragic, though I do not think Spider-Man dies. My guess is it involves MJ or Ned instead, partly because the post-credit scene reportedly does not deliver a symbiote reveal, so if Spider-Man died, going off planet during an incursion would not make sense. He could still get the symbiote later in Secret Wars if it does not happen in Brand New Day.
A new trailer played before The Odyssey featuring Spider-Man versus Hulk footage
I saw The Odyssey and caught a new trailer playing before it with new footage that was really cool, especially a scene of Spider-Man fighting the Hulk. That trailer is supposed to release publicly, possibly the same day this was recorded, though it had not gone up yet at that point.
A Sony Japan graphic maps out Damage Control's Bill Metzger and a mysterious hooded villain
A graphic released by Sony Japan groups several characters together and reveals more plot context once translated. Bill Metzger of the Department of Damage Control, an anti-mutant radical in the comics, approaches Spider-Man for help capturing a mysterious hooded figure, which tells me Sony is already laying groundwork for an eventual X-Men saga in the MCU given Jean Grey's presence. The graphic notes Spider-Man and Punisher frequently clash over their different methods, with Spider-Man believing in justice without killing while Punisher relies on lethal force. NYPD Detective Jean DeWolff works alongside Spider-Man during the investigation, as she does in the comics, and an unidentified character marked with a question mark is shown cooperating with both DeWolff and Spider-Man, most likely Yelena Belova based on current speculation. Ned Leeds has helped Spider-Man since their high school days and, out of admiration, is determined to uncover his true identity. MJ remains close with Ned and is currently in a relationship, though her boyfriend's identity has not been revealed, which makes me wonder if he ends up being a villain. Aunt May's lesson that with great power comes great responsibility remains the foundation of Peter's actions as a hero, and Bruce Banner is shown helping Spider-Man better understand how to control his powers. The mysterious hooded figure among the villains has not been identified, with the only confirmed detail being that this individual can control other people.
With less than two weeks to go, I am hoping we get confirmation that Sadie Sink is Jean Grey, and I really do hope this turns out to be the best Spider-Man movie yet, though that is quite the task.
Do you still think Sadie Sink's character could be Rachel or Hope instead of Jean Grey?
