Marvel's New Zodiac Series and the Full 2026 to 2030 Slate: Everything Coming to the MCU

A 2028 spy show with an Agents of SHIELD nod, the last season of Daredevil: Born Again, Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider and three untitled 2029 movies

TC The Cosmic Wonder (AI-assisted)10 October 2026 · Editor: Digital Fox Talent Editorial Team 1,960 words · 9 min read

Published 10 October 2026. Words like "tonight" or "next week" refer to that date.

Marvel Studios has just updated its slate, running from this year's VisionQuest out to roughly 2030 if you count the projects that have already been confirmed. Marvel also just announced a new live action series coming in 2028 called Zodiac, and I'm going to break down what to expect from it and what it's going to be about.

Here's how the whole slate lays out, year by year, along with what I know so far about each project.

VisionQuest and Avengers: Doomsday close out Marvel's 2026

The end of this year has two big releases. VisionQuest came out on October 14th, and Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18th.

VisionQuest reviews are officially out, and I haven't seen a single bad one yet. It's just internet reactions right now, but pretty much everybody is praising the show like it's going to be really, really good. A lot of people say it's one of Marvel's best projects ever, and I've even seen some people say it's their favorite MCU show on Disney Plus, period. Then, of course, there's the big one, Avengers: Doomsday, on December 18th.

Daredevil: Born Again season 3 will be the last, but I don't think Daredevil is done

Moving into 2027, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 arrives January 13th. Marvel just announced that release date, so if you enjoyed season 1, or you're planning to watch it, season 2 isn't far off.

Then there's kind of a sad one. Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is coming in 2027, but Marvel announced that it will be the final season of Daredevil: Born Again. When that was announced during the Marvel panel at New York Comic Con, the crowd literally booed.

Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock, was asked whether he thought his character was done after season 3. Of course, he can't necessarily come out and say something like he's going to be in the next Spider-Man movie, or that a street level team is getting its own movie. But he did kind of tease that he thinks the fans will rally together to save Daredevil again. We had the Netflix series, and then this one came back with the original characters and the original story, which he and Vincent D'Onofrio fought to keep, which was great.

So I don't think it's the last we're going to see of Daredevil. I do believe he's going to remain in the MCU, but with the soft reboot coming, who really knows what's going to happen then. I will say that if they decide to recast, it'll be kind of tragic, but I do understand, considering they're going to recast many different characters going into the new soft rebooted MCU after Avengers: Secret Wars.

Daredevil is the only live action project between Doomsday and Secret Wars

Speaking of Secret Wars, Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is the only live action project between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The rest of that stretch is Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2, X-Men '97 season 3, and Marvel Zombies: The Winter Soldier, which was just announced and comes out on Halloween.

Marvel actually announced three new Marvel Zombies projects, all coming out in different years but all on Halloween. So if you're a fan of Marvel Zombies, there's a new one every Halloween for the next three years. Then, on December 17th, comes Avengers: Secret Wars. Hopefully that date doesn't change, but as of right now, that's where it sits.

It's widely believed, and basically confirmed at this point, that Daredevil: Born Again season 3 takes place before the events of Avengers: Doomsday. We believe Doomsday ends with the destruction of the entire multiverse, so how could Hell's Kitchen in New York be exactly the same for Daredevil if the multiverse has already ended? Therefore, it takes place before.

Zodiac looks like Marvel's spy show for the rebooted MCU, with an Agents of SHIELD nod

That brings us to 2028 and Zodiac. Marvel revealed the logo, and the head of Marvel television said that if you look closely at it, you can pick up hints about what is to come. It looks like the Agents of SHIELD logo is in the A of Zodiac, which is really, really cool. For Agents of SHIELD fans, it looks like we're going to get some version of that in the new MCU.

Keep in mind that this is coming out after Avengers: Secret Wars, in 2028, so we'll be in the new soft rebooted universe at that point.

The project was actually reported by an insider before it was announced. About a month ago, on September 21st, they posted: "I just received info about the Zodiac show Marvel is developing." According to that report, it's an X-Files style episodic show led by two to three characters who are new to the MCU and who potentially have little to no history in the comics, which is really interesting. It's reportedly being developed to be rated TV mature. The report also said: "It is designed to fit in the background of the MCU" and pick up, explore and expand stories and characters that haven't been used in a while, as well as introduce new corners of the universe.

I also want to point out that in the past, the head of Marvel television said Agents of SHIELD does feel like it fits in the Multiverse Saga in an incredible way. Obviously, this won't be the Multiverse Saga, but the person making this said Agents of SHIELD fits, so we'll see what happens.

Zodiac could draw on Hickman's Secret Warriors and the broken Great Wheel

This is really interesting because it could go off planet, but in the comics, Zodiac is an organization made up of, basically, the world's most legendary spies. From there, there are connections to SHIELD, Hydra, Leviathan and the Hand. The other logo in this reveal is the Great Wheel, and that connects Zodiac to everything, like Hydra and SHIELD. It's all basically going to come from this.

Hickman's Secret Warriors is basically the storyline here, and that's basically what we're getting in live action. It's a big story that starts with a time traveling Leonardo da Vinci, who gathers 11 of the world's greatest spymasters along with himself. That makes 12 of them, each assigned a zodiac sign, which is why it's called Zodiac.

The Great Wheel in the logo is actually broken, and that's a big hint toward betrayal, because in the comics a couple of them betray the others. From there, we get Nick Fury with SHIELD, Hydra, the Zodiac Cartel, the Hand and Leviathan. It just connects to so much.

So this is going to be a spy show. Maybe Nick Fury comes back. Maybe Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Maybe Sonya Falsworth comes back, because who knows what's going to happen with her, and maybe people don't want anything to happen with her after Secret Invasion, because maybe people want that wiped away. Hopefully it's a lot better than Secret Invasion. I think the first two episodes of Secret Invasion, the ones with that spy espionage feeling, were actually good, and then it went downhill from there. So I think Marvel knows how to do this. I do think this is kind of a response to Lanterns as well, which a lot of people have been talking about, but I think this will work and I think it's got the potential to be really, really good.

The X-Men movie is set to tackle mutants and humanity after Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Still in 2028, the new X-Men movie arrives May 5th. We have almost the full cast, and we're basically just waiting on Beast and Bobby Drake's Iceman at this point. Most of the cast has been announced, including the villain, Mister Sinister, who we cannot wait to see. This will be a young X-Men team at Professor Xavier's school.

What we've recently heard is that the movie is basically going to tackle classic X-Men themes, which I think is the way to go. It's a First Class team, so it's going to be mutants dealing with humanity and humanity dealing with mutants, especially after Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where Jean Grey, a mutant, harmed some people, jumping into brains and freezing a lot of people in New York City. Humanity is going to be very wary of mutants, and mutants are going to be trying to find their place in the world. That's where Professor X and the school come in, with Magneto going against it as well.

It's also been confirmed that Spider-Man and Jean aren't getting together. The relationship is going to be between Jean and Cyclops, which I think is the way to go.

On the animated side, X-Men '97 season 4 is confirmed, and it seems like they're just going to keep making these. Season 1 was amazing. I think season 2 wasn't as good, but a lot of people still like it. Season 3 is coming, then season 4.

Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider could kickstart the Midnight Suns

Then there's Ghost Rider on July 28th, and I cannot wait for this. Ryan Gosling is Ghost Rider, and I love it. I know some people are on the fence about it, but I really do love it. I think Ryan Gosling has a lot of range, and I think he has a lot of passion for this project.

That passion is where it came from. He and Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool & Wolverine and of the new Star Wars movie Starfighter, which Gosling is starring in, were talking about it, came up with an idea and got so excited that they brought it to Marvel and Kevin Feige. I love that. That's how you make good projects, when the passion's in it.

Mephisto is supposed to be in it. With Ghost Rider's origin story, Mephisto has to be in it for him to get his powers, so I think that's going to be really, really cool. This will also kickstart the Midnight Suns and more of the supernatural side of the MCU. We got a little bit of that with Werewolf by Night, who is also said to be joining the Midnight Suns eventually. Ghost Rider will be the leader of the Midnight Suns as well.

Then, on Halloween, comes another Marvel Zombies project: The Fist of Khonshu, built around Moon Knight. That's animated, of course, but hopefully the Midnight Suns bring back Moon Knight too.

Black Panther 3 closes 2028, and three untitled movies sit in 2029

Black Panther 3 is listed for December 15th. We do have our new Black Panther, but he's supposed to make his debut in Avengers: Secret Wars, so we might not have to wait all the way until December 15th, 2028, to see him. Hopefully the Secret Wars date stays the same and it's December 17th, 2027.

For 2029, Marvel Studios has three untitled movies listed: May 4th, July 13th and November 9th. Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian, a Guardians of the Galaxy one, is coming Halloween 2029.

Deadpool 4, Shang-Chi 2 and Nova are my guesses for the open 2029 dates

As for what those untitled movies could be, there are five confirmed projects. The first is Deadpool 4. It's been in the works for a while, or at least Ryan Reynolds has been writing it for a while, but it's confirmed to be happening, and Reynolds said it's going to be an ensemble film. The big question is how it fits with the X-Men and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine returning, and what Deadpool's role will be in the soft reboot after Secret Wars. There are a lot of big question marks, but people love the Deadpool movies, so it obviously makes sense to make another one, especially coming off Deadpool & Wolverine. There's a lot you can do with the new universe and Deadpool breaking the fourth wall. It has the potential to be amazing, and I think it probably will be, since they haven't really missed with the Deadpool films.

Then there's Shang-Chi 2, finally confirmed. It was supposed to happen a while ago, but Shang-Chi is seemingly returning in Doomsday, and I'm assuming in Secret Wars as well, since the sequel comes after that in the next phase. I know a lot of people will be really excited about that, and I personally am too.

Spider-Man 5 is also on the list. Sony said right away after Spider-Man: Brand New Day that it was already working on Spider-Man 5, and with Brand New Day becoming the third biggest movie of all time, of course they are. We've heard a lot about what it could be, but with the soft reboot coming, there aren't any solid ideas locked in yet. They're not even writing it yet; they just have ideas.

Then there's Nova. It was originally confirmed as a show, but Kevin Feige not too long ago confirmed it as a movie. We believe it's Richard Rider's Nova, and I think that's going to be great for taking us into the cosmic side of the MCU. He might even go on to form a new Guardians of the Galaxy team. Who knows? The fifth project is Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 3, which is animated.

That leaves four movies that could take three of those spots. My guess is Deadpool 4, Shang-Chi 2 and Nova, because Marvel typically doesn't put Sony projects, which basically means Spider-Man, on its slates. A Midnight Suns project should also be happening, and possibly a Doctor Strange 3, so there are other contenders. But I think Deadpool 4, Shang-Chi 2 and Nova are the biggest ones. A lot is coming, and Marvel is probably going to announce more, even though the slate is pretty packed already.

Which upcoming Marvel project are you most excited for?
